I absolutely I've never questioned myself nor do I still question myself whether or not to cancel no desire to do so. Still planning on to go unless princess Cancels me

You're braver that a lot of people.

Especially when they do have a choice.

Have a good cruise.

We are also planning to cruise today.  I don't think it’s a matter of being brave.  It’s about realizing that we have about the same or less chance of getting Coronavirus than we do the regular flu (which I caught in a cruise many years ago)

Also part of me thinks it’s going to get worse before it gets better so let’s cruise now

Perhaps I view it differently since we cruise so often.

I didn't like to have cancelled our trip for next week but all things considered it just wasn't worth it. They'll be another cruise in the future that we can enjoy without the worry of a contagious virus.

Then we can all be worried about the typical things like dressing for the DR & chair hogs. 😉

Anthony Fauci just said on MTP this morning if you are elderly (which they define as over 60) AND/OR have underlying medical conditions, whatever else you do, you should NOT go on a cruise ship!!!!

Does anyone know if there are many people now sailing are sick with a virus or Noro?

What seems to be the reason for cancellation?

the update from the Captain stated that no one onboard had any type of symptoms, including the two crew being tested from the Grand.

It feels like they cancelled next week to avoid having a repeat situation from the Royal yesterday with everyone stuck at the terminal. I would think with how quick this is changing, they may just want a week off to evaluate before starting the next cruise.

If you’re on the Regal you’re not cruising today.  And yes some may Take  chance and board a cruise only to be refused at ports or end up quarantined to your cabin.

Not a cruise - jailed at sea

FYI, the Celebrity Silhouette has returned to Miami only 2 days into a 9 day cruise and is hanging out near the Regal Princess

Celebrity Silhouette left PortMiami--they were docked at a container berth--to resume her cruise more than 45 minutes ago...

It appears that her return to Florida was for a medical evacuation unrelated to Covid-19...  If the ship had returned for concerns related to Coronovirus, Silhouette would not have been permitted to dock--under current government guidelines--on an unscheduled basis...

Well, we sail next week on Regal, or will we? I can't believe I am even typing this, but maybe we should cancel. 🤭

I would let them cancel it instead of making the decision to cancel. If they cancel you get money refunded, if you cancel its cruise credit. Wont matter if you are going to rebook soon on Princess, but I would rather get my money back and start over. At least this info is what I understand to be true. We are on the 3-15 Regal trip. I'll wait for them to cancel it, that way the accountability is on them. Thinking that taking this week to tighten up measures then 3-15 will go to eastern Caribbean.

So when pp said, they've already cancelled next week, they mean the people that are currently on board and not the 15th? We are booked on the 22nd sailing.

the cruise scheduled to leave today is cancelled.

Yes....the cruise scheduled for 3-8 (today) to the western Caribbean is canceled. The 15th and beyond are still on at this point.

Folks, Captain just updated us that we are awaiting update from CDC.  Holding pattern continues.

Captain Stringer has been communicating frequently but at this moment, we just don't know.  Princess is putting those with Princess ez air up in a hotel tonight and rebooking air, which is about 700 passengers...provided we can dock.

I'll bet there complete silence when he makes announcements. The people usually don't listen to a word of them. 😉

We were set to be boarding the Regal today. Unfortunately, we didnt see the email they sent out at 3:45a (et) about it until we were through security at the airport.

so far the only compensation they are offering is a refund of the existing cruise and full value cruise credit for another one. Unfortunately (Or fortunately) for us, this cruise was comp’ed entirely by The Venetian Casino in Vegas. So we are just out the taxes and fees and flights.

I agree.....Princess can't win. Why can't another cruise line be centre of attention?

The Carnival Panorama locked down everyone scheduled to disembark and made the new passengers book hotels for the night, because one disembarking passengers showed symptoms. So it's not just Princess now, and the new imminent cruise screening procedures will supposedly include screening at disembarkation, so any time any ship has a passenger with a high temperature, the ship is likely to be put on lockdown until that person is tested and cleared.

Carnival Corp owns both Carnival and Princess cruise lines.
