Does any one want a spare sister ?

One of mine has just phoned to ask if it is ok for her and her husband to come to our house this evening, followed by "can you pick us up and we will get a taxi home or we could stay overnight".

I asked why they weren't going to their daughter but apparently they were invited but said no because she is having her parents-in-law, sister-in-law and sister-in-law's 3 children so it will be very loud and crowded in my niece's house because it is one of those new very small houses that they seem to be building everywhere.

I don't think there will be much chance of getting a taxi tonight so I have just been and made sure that the spare bedroom is ready for guests.

@Adawn47 Sorry to read that Frank is unwell, I hope you get some answers and that he's on the mend very soon, look after yourself too!

 

For the first year in our married life we are having a quiet night in this New Year's Eve with a takeaway and relaxed evening watching TV.

Life has continued to be manic here, Dad is exhausted but improving and waiting for an  appointment with a specialist, Mum is still not good and is waiting for an MRI to check her spine for issues, she can't walk unaided at the moment and she's normally climbing on chairs and all sorts, I've been having to bath her. Then two days ago our Son in law had a cornea transplant, 6 hour operation and a pretty long recovery time, so with our daughter being 33 weeks pregnant we're now helping them as well as my parents. We've had our Grandson here for the last 3 days & nights, gave him back earlier.

 

Mum & Dad think they may have to cancel going on the Norwegian cruise with us at the end of May because of all their health issues and upcoming referrals etc. They've got until balance due date to make up their minds.

A quiet night in for us. Take away and a bottle of wine. Looking at all the holiday websites today. Thinking of what to do next year. Another year of deciding what we would like to do, not having to see what we are allowed to do. Only one cruise booked for next year...watch this space. To all those with difficulties to deal with ,We wish your loved ones a full and speedy recovery. To all, a happy new year. Will we get a cheese wheel in the MDR...not bothered.🤣

A quick update for those who asked. No more transfusions today, so I hope that's the last and no more needed. Still on IV antibiotics and heart and BP normal. He's sleeping a lot and his appetite is improving. I will know more on Tuesday

Almost the end of another year, and I wish all my virtual cc friends A Very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous  2024. We have all had our troubles this year in one way or another, and we have come together to support each other as any real family would. I am grateful to @Host Sharon for this continuing thread which has been an important lifeline for many since 2020.

Great to hear Frank is improving and heart and BP is normal.

As @Eglesbrech advised  the limited liquid intake is to protect his heart ,I should be on 

1500ml but as my heart recovered they allowed me a bit more .

Frank sounds like he's going in the right direction and a good kip wont hurt him and you 

make sure you get one as you need to be tip top once he comes home .

Frank's on 1500ml too. The nurse said tonight that he would be coming home a new man.

Which will disappointing for for him as he'll be coming home to the same old woman.

Had a busy day with visitors. Firstly one of my daughters this morning, then my two eldest granddaughters this afternoon so it has been like a second Christmas exchanging presents.

 

Avril, I'm glad to hear that Frank is improving and hopefully will be home soon.
