We use 30 degree wash regularly as is default temperature for machine, very few problems.

Us too.  We bought the integrated machine from Mrs. Previous Owner and she said she used 30 degrees all the time on a short wash (37m with extra rinse).  We have been very pleased with it, no problems

Quiet day for me today. Son has just set off back down to Southampton but  may be back up to Cheshire at the end of September as his flat rental runs out and he hasn't found anywhere else yet. And wife is out taking two grandsons to monkey forest at trentham.

Lovely day here sunny, light breeze and warm.

We normally use a 30c daily quick washing machine programme which is about 40 mins sometimes with an extra rinse, our clothes aren't very dirty as we don't roll about in mud in white clothes like they do in detergent adverts!. We have an option for a quick wash on the main programmes but surprisingly the 30c wash becomes longer than the 40c wash. If we have a stain we spot pretreat with liquid detergent for 5 minutes before washing.

Similar here - my quick programme takes 30 minutes, and if the machine is pretty full spins very well.

I am possibly not as fussy as some, and don't have whites (coloured sheets and undies) and don't ever have anything very dirty, but find this adequate for almost everything.

Tell them to be extra careful around those monkies at the moment.😁

I explained this to DW as a cost saving measure. She explained that we need 40o on the programme that takes about an hour as ' your shirts ' normally have half your dinner down the front and if you don't like the way I do the washing and ironing you can do it yourself in future. I wonder how she will feel about turning the heating down a degree, or two and leaving it off until November? 🤔

30° washer here, but I do use stain remover added on the white wash, also do a short wool wash on lots of items. I do however still wash towels & sheets on 60 does everyone else do that still?  I’m thinking I should do a lower wash but that wouldn’t kill dust mites etc? Off to hang out the washing on the newfangled drying device thingy, you know the washing line as it’s windy & sunny 😎

Famous last words - serves me right; just done a wash load and there must have been a wodge of paper towel or something in a pocket - everything is covered in tiny white bits of paper!  Looks awful.  Now doing a rinse and spin to see if they will be removed.

Wrap cello tape the wrong way round your hand sticky side out and run over the clothes. The white bits stick.

Really annoying when that happens!

Our Miele machine is fine at 30 as well. Soft water area so we also use very little washing liquid.

I was considering popping into the public loo when we go into town and pinching a bit of their hand soap. A squirt in the washer.  That could save a fortune. Morriston haven't had sweetener in their coffee shop the last few weeks.  Will need to buy some............poo.

I have a very hairy cat and I buy sticky rollers from Amazon. They are are great for anything sticking to clothing, not just cat hairs. I have had accidents in the wash when tissues have been left in pockets, sorted very quickly with a sticky roller.

Has anyone else experienced this fairly recent phenomenon? A few weeks ago I telephoned a company and was asked the usual security question: first line of your address and post code? I told him and he responded with "amazing".  "What", said I, "amazing  that I know my own address"? He simply repeated "amazing". I just thought perhaps he was prone to rather theatrical reactions.

I thought little about it until a visit to the vet, during which she responded with "bless" every time I imparted an additional revolting feature of my dog's digestive problems.

The subject has featured recently in the Torygraph letters page, my favourite being: "when visiting restaurants, my partner and I try to guess whether the placing of our orders will be hailed as "amazing", "awesome" or "perfect".😂

Go for Royal Caribbean with kids.

The bigger ships of theirs have the most facilities.

Oasis class.

Freedom class.

Quantum class.

Voyager class.

The smaller Radiance and Vision class ships have a lot less for kids.

Just to add our experience every year I compare prices amongst cruise lines and consistently find that like for like cabins (balcony with sofa bed for our son) for similar cruise destinations and itineraries sailing from Southampton during the main school holidays are far more expensive on RCI than P&O (last one I compared was circa £1500 more).

We’d love to try RCI with our son in mind but for now they’re out of our price range unless we’re prepared to make some compromises such as having an inside cabin. We have had an inside before in our pre-parenting days and have been perfectly happy with picture window cabins as well, but considering the number of times our son just wants to stay in the cabin on sea days I can’t imagine having an inside at present.

Although I’ve yet to try them, RCI sounds like the better family choice but it comes at a premium so ultimately you get what you pay for.

Great day had in Durham today on our owd folk special, nice to see a town centre doing well these days, Beamish tomorrow with decent weather forecast.

Last time we went to Beamish we gave our personal details and got a years pass for the regular cost of 1 day.

We did the same when we visited the Royal yacht Britannia in Leith near Edinburgh.

Our "Pesonal Cruise Specialist" at Princess says "amazing" every time I speak regardless of what I say.
