P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

I have been to see the distortions morning, what a performance courtesy of Covid.  I rang for an appointment and then had to wait for a doctor to call back for my online consultation.  I then had to go to the surgery so that she could take a look at my arm because she couldn't diagnose over the phone.  I had tried to explain to the receptionist on the phone that the problem wasn't visible but now you have to have a phone consultation then the doctor will decide whether he/she wants to see you.

My arm will remain attached to my body, I have strong painkillers and a leaflet on exercising an arm that won't move or bear weight.  If it hasn't improved in 2 weeks I will have to a CT scan.

Many years ago there was a poster at Liverpool Street Station exclaiming "Harwich for the Continent" to which some wag had added "....and Frinton for the Incontinent". I wonder how much has changed? Jane.x

We normally go to Frinton every time we visit my mum in Colchester. It's become noticeably more trendy over the last 15 years,  with lots of nice bistros and restaurants.

Still retains many quirky rules though. No ice cream or tea stalls on the prom, for example,  and no amusement arcades (excellent!).

I honestly have just had a rant in the kitchen about none of the tupperware lids fitting the container that I was trying to use 🤣

I've got loads of odd lids, but don't seem to have many containers to put them on !!!!

We have just got home after a 7 hour drive from Southampton.

We had 2 nights pre-cruise and 1 night post cruise in the Premier Inn West Quay.

I parked in the very safe Multi- Storey car park at West Quay for 7 nights at a cost of £35.

We got on Britannia on the 22nd August which was our 40th wedding anniversary day.

We dined in Epicurean speciality restaurant every night and had a fabulous time.

We had breakfast in Carluccios before driving home.

Graham.

Jeez, that Carluccio's breakfast looks one helluva breakfast!  I'm sure that kept you going all the way back home.  Great photos, and what a wonderful way to celebrate your Ruby Anniversary.

Thank you Son of Anarchy.

Before our stay in Southampton we had 2 night's in Newbury and went to Highclere castle and had a tour inside where Downton abbey was filmed.

Thank you.

We had a great relaxing time.

I don't know the exact number but it seemed at least half full.

At our request the cabin Steward never entered our cabin.

When I saw her in the corridor she gave me plenty of towels.

There were containers in the corridor to put our used towels into.

Almost everyone wore masks indoors and most wore masks while walking outside.

Graham.

Wow, what a way to celebrate your anniversary... You put all us men to shame Graham. The Tesco flowers just won't cut it anymore😊

Newbury is lovely, I don't suppose you stayed in the Chequers Hotel?

Looks just fab Graham, a very special way to spend your anniversary. You kept that quiet!!! Was it a surprise for Pauline?

We are in IOW, saw the signs for Highclere Castle on the way down here, a place I would like to visit in the future.

Take care everyone and stay safe

Well that was a well kept secret, you romantic man you💕. I hope you gave Pauline enough time to pack, it's not something we ladies can do quickly. 😉

What an unforgetable way to celebrate your Ruby Anniversary. You both look so happy and everything looked perfect from start to finish. The photos are lovely Graham, I almost felt as though I was there with you.

Avril
