Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

We took a walk over to the Ritz to see the preview of the cars that will be auctioned tomorrow.  Very impressive.  Lots of pics to follow.  There were some McLarens at the Ritz front entrance before getting to the preview.

Not sure what this is but possibly a Ferrari that has been redone.  I like it from the outside, not so much on the inside.

The preview was separated into 2 areas.  Most of the cars were outside on the Ritz lawn by the ballroom, overlooking the ocean.  Beautiful day here today…low 70s and sunny.  Should be the same for the next 2 days with temps reaching the upper 70s.  Here are pics of many of the cars available for sale.

Here are pictures of a Interior room with a Virtual Balcony for the Wonder of the seas.

Love the couch, it has a trundle bed in it.

The closet shot has the router on the top self.

These are pictures from the live stream on JJ Cruise.

AAA in the past had Trip Guides, they are bound books with hotels and food places in the city you chose. Not sure if they have them now

Their Triptiks were wonderful. We drove all over the country with them.
Then they changed to square booklets that give little info and not great maps.
You can print those out yourself, but I wouldn’t bother.
For destinations I go with the state tourist people and local Chambers of Commerce.

The (really) expensive stuff was inside the ballroom, with a beautiful Packard (estimated at $4-4.5M) in the center of the room.  Several supercars for sale for those with a few million extra dollars looking for an investment.  If you told me that I could pick which car I wanted, it would probably be the black Bugatti, with the black Ferrari a close second.  Then again, black isn't a great color for Florida so maybe I'd take the McLaren Speedtail.  Choices, choices.

I loved the Triptiks.  I thought they were a brilliant concept and the ultimate in user friendly design.

Oh what great news!

Hang in there, you’re in a section of bumpy road, but you and Charlie will get through it.

I saved a lot of them for a few years thinking I’d go through them again for nostalgia. Moving to a condo took care of that.

We are planning a trip to Gatlinburg in April.  Does anyone have any tips or must sees for that area.  We like to take short hikes, maybe atv rides, moonshine, anything nature, country music.  Not too much into crowds, theme parks rides, urban areas.

If you have time go to Pigeon Forge, just a mere 5  miles away to the Titanic museum.  Unbelievable. also go to the one other museum, the one that has to do with "crime" cannot remember the name of it but in the shopping center in Pigeon Forge.

Enjoy, we did.

When in Gailinburg park your car and walk, walk, walk, can get very crowded.

Bring along patience, there is only a two way street and traffic can get very congested and is a PIA.

We stayed at the Tree tops resort and loved it.

Be safe.

That Packard is a beauty.
One of  my granddaughters used to model the vintage cars. She wore period clothing and stood near the car she was modeling. That’s it! No talking.
Nice paycheck. And sunburn.

I'd need to see them in person but I'll check their catalogue out tonight to help form my decision. 😂

Thanks for the photos.  Looks like an amazing day to walking the grounds. Enjoy it all, I'm certainly enjoying the photos. Thanks for sharing them here.

So finished packing. OMG the struggle was real.
I hope I have enough clothes, I lit. don’t have any more room.

DD scolded me for not taking a checked bag, but if that bag was lost I would have issues replacing my clothes.

I have never done carry on for 10 days, wouldn’t recommend it.

At this point if I forgot something I really don’t care lol.

I could never do 10-days with carry on only.     I typically bring a regular size and a small carry on.

You can always wash something in the sink in your cabin if you have to.

I won’t do this again, I had to sacrifice my belt too. I also couldn’t pack my pool safe nor by door sign. Very sad I bought it but will save for the next cruise.

Hopefully my jeans don’t fall down.

I may send some clothes out to wash mid cruise .
