Others have mentioned it, but it bears repeating that photography is a very versatile hobby and taking time out from the worries of these trying times to focus on something familiar and fun provides a healthy and much needed dose of normal.

Went to the Jawbone Reserve wetlands for the first time in a month or more. Beautiful autumn Sunday morning, but quiet on the animal front. But various families out and about.

 

Purple swamp hen was having a look at me, grooming, then the babies arrived out of the reeds.

Still stuck in the stay-at-home mode here - fortunately as spring migration is in full force here in Florida, sometimes even the back and front yard can have pretty good activity...this Saturday was shockingly good for diversity around the house:

 

Egyptian geese with their goslings in the pond:

 

A solitary sandpiper gliding over the pond:

 

A limpkin flying past a neighbor's yard:

 

A cedar waxwing in flight:

 

And one hanging out in the tree:

A repeat of a shot from last week's thread - this time they relocated to the deck rather than the planter, but the male cardinal still dutifully feeding his youngster:

That is a very productive neighborhood.  Great shots!

 

We have Goldfinches, Crows and Robins.  And the ever present Turkey Vultures.

Remember watching a smoker unconsciously drop their cigarette butt on the ground and walk away or flick it out the car window, seemingly unaware that the remains of their smoky lung snack is actually trash? Well, the current global catastrophe has spawned a new way to thoughtlessly litter . This cart is sitting in the middle of the closed-off half of our local Costco’s parking lot near the winding people corral leading to the entrance. The bags are filled with used personal protection items picked up from the ground. The new normal it seems, is to exit your car, open the package your mask or gloves came in and drop the wrapper on the ground. Upon returning to your car, you peel off the gloves and drop them. Still, I don’t wish ill on these cretins. Mostly.
