Has anyone figured out Princess Cruises official calculation process for option 1. Counting on those tech folks in the valley to developed the logic. 😄 Get your if, then, else on! Would love to have some idea what to expect when the coveted email comes.

I received 25% of the cruise fare but not ofthe port fees or tax. The port fees will be posted back to my visa they said. If you call Princess they can give you your amount even though it isn't going to show in your account for 60 days.

Government taxes are almost already separated out.  You don't get an additional 25% of that.  Then, you have to separate out the port charges which are worked into almost all cruise fares now.  If you see your cruise fare as $1000 per person (for example), look on your Princess invoice for the port charges and take those out - $150 per person (for example) = $850 cruise fare.  This is the amount that you'd get the extra 25% of and not on the gov. taxes, port fees, prepaid gratuities, airfare, transfers or insurance.

Are those refunded to the credit card?

My question for option 1 is how can those credits be used? Only to purchase a cruise? If there is leftover credit can it be used on the cruise for other purchases like other on board credit?

I am asking because I purchased 3 cabins for a family cruise that of course got cancelled. My husband and I cruise a lot but the family members in the other 2 cabins don't.

The FCC issued under option 1 will go to each cabin holder, not me, even though I paid for all 3 cabins. If they can use the extra credit on board then I might do option 1.

Otherwise I am going to have to ask for credit back to my credit card. And wait.

This may no longer be true but Princess cancelled my cruise on March 12, 2020. I received a 100% refund + 50% FCC which was 537. I already had another cruise with a balance due (September 4, 2020) so paid it off and bought 202.13 OBC. But that was last month. Like I said : things may have changed

Current options are 125% of cruise fare as FCC (and they keep your money) OR your money back.

Not nearly as good as you got.
