Prime Sticker

Recommended Posts

I made Prime last year, but my partner did not. I was given a prime sticker on my Seapass card, which gives me free drinks in the casino.  Let's say that on our next cruise, I give my partner the sticker from my old Seapass card, and get a new one on the new cruise.  Do you think the casino bartenders/casino staff would notice?

NOTE:  I know this is unethical and breaking the rules.  I'm honestly just curious to see if you think they'd notice.  Or what kind of trouble we'd get into for doing it

Sometimes it is erroneously left off.  Some people make Prime on a cruise.  There are two reasons for a sticker.

Do they take your card to get the drinks? If so, would be real easy to see on your account.

They’re probably make you walk the plank for it.

They don't seem to scan the card, just see the prime status and give you the drink! Which is why I thought this might work 😂

This would be fine for me, and I can take the sticker off my old card and give it to my partner! Then we *both* get free drinks!

Not a casino regular BUT  I usually tip $1 cash on top of drink and gratitude, which usually by day 2 i feel like I get better service .... So if you AND your partner BOTH tipped $1 cash per drink, I don't see the wait staff proactively trying to figure out your ruse. And at essentially $2 for your partners drink ... win for you a win for the wait staff

If you can afford to cruise, why can't you afford to pay for your own drinks?  I find your proposal slimy and dishonest. I notice you are also proposing this same nonsense in the RC forum, but hardly anybody responded.

Are you really asking people to give you some kind of support for basic theft?  I hope you get caught and banned for life from the cruise line.

I can see this is making you very upset. I'm sorry you felt the need to accuse and insult me. I hope those comments helped you to feel better about yourself.

I believe I was very clear in my original post that I understood that it was breaking rules. I can see that you feel I should have been clearer that my intention was only curiosity and not actual plans of "basic theft". In the future, when you feel upset at others, I hope you can learn from my response and conduct yourself in a respectful and adult manner.

I was thinking they might switch colors on the stickers or something.

They used to have cups you could buy for unlimited soda from soda machines. Someone on a b2b group bought one for her kid thinking she could use it both weeks, who would know. The cup apparently is coded in the bottom and didnt work the 2nd week. The cup knew. After over 50 cruises, they run together, dont even remember who it was or what cruise.

I'm just thinking they have a way of knowing.

I wouldn't be sure you could take a year old sticker off one card and affix it to another.  AND, how do you know they haven't changed the design or color of the sticker?

As far as the punishment if you're caught?  Worst case is you're charged with theft and put off at the next port and handed over to authorities.

Agree 100%, although I don’t understand the RC forum reference.

This may not work because the sticker differs with ships.

2 years ago I became prime while on a cruise.  They gave me a red sticker.

That cruise ended and we got on another ship the next day at same port and the casino system had not yet updated my prime status so that casino host put a clear sticker on my sea pass.

The bartenders do not scan your card.  I usually only have to show my card once or twice per cruise as they get to know you.   Probably helps that I give them a $20 tip the first day and other tips throughout the cruise.

You know it's unethical yet you're asking anyway.  I think you're more than curious.  I think you want to know if you can get away with it.  Otherwise, why ask?   It's more than unethical, it's wrong, but I think you know that.

You can still buy the cups as part of the refreshment packages (soda).  It has a chip in it that the machine can read.

I think you used the word "honestly" incorrectly in your last sentence...............................

My apologies if you find this less than adult or disrespectful, but it's the English Major in me, and I am compelled:

Every other single thing you have stated in your posts leads the reader to believe you are truly intending on putting this idea into practice.  No matter of protesting, or declaring "just curiosity",  can whitewash the fact that everything else you say is in support of, well, stealing.

Not upset, either.  The time I watched a passenger from our ship putting on shorts in Honolulu's Walmart so he could walk out in them, I lost a LOT of my faith in people's honesty.  (I pointed out where the dressing rooms were for him, too.)

The OP sounds like they are trying to make a hypothetical situation that they truly intend to do. There is no reason to even ask the question other than to get confirmation and gratification to do it. My opinion is if you have money to gamble, you have money to buy your own drinks if they are not given to you free. The cost of the drink is ~3 minutes of gambling time assuming the drink is $10. Skip one or two hands, pulls of the lever, tapping the button etc and pay for the drink. Or, buy the drink package and not worry about it. What I would find funny is if they tried it, got caught, reprimanded, and dropped off at the next port.

Hypothetically: Don't do it

Ethically: Don't do it

$20 tip first day?  I thought it was much more. Maybe if you know the secret handshake, it’s less.

No worries they all get very nice tips throughout the cruise.  I'm known to over tip.

I was thinking maybe you cant still buy the cup going forward.

The fast food places here took out the self serve soda machines.

Btw I'm talking because of the virus. Not before all this virus. They dont .let you refill your own soda here anymore in dallas. We are just glad to be allowed to reopen
