They got the correct answer and disappeared

I put an email in to say I couldn't find a volunteer to attach a photo for me and Next please.

However, it mustn't have registered.  I'd been having trouble with my computer.

Gokayama , Toyama, Japan.

Very few of this style of house exist and  the people's traditional way of life

You're on the right track but this village is not Gokayama.

could it be Shirakawa-go then  ???

Correct. It's claim to fame is that it has over 110 of the gassho-zukuri houses. Before we stopped in the village we visited one these "hands in prayer" houses. It was quite fascinating. There was very little natural light inside and braziers were used for heating and cooking. The lowest level was living areas, the next level was living and working  and the remaining levels were used for silk manufacture including the breeding of the silkworms.

We did go to Gokayama as well where we learnt how to make washi paper.
