The flag of France, Canada present and the Red Ensign of Canada in use at the time of the battle, I believe this is the only place in the world that that flag is flown in an official capacity

Great photo.  You should have saved the photo with the question name the flags and the monument in background.

Thanks for history lesson Lyle     ( most interesting ).... Cheers Don

Your turn Don.

The Allward house is not a Museum it is the home of the Canadian Parks manager, I don't recall the term but Canadian Parks personnel live at the park and rotate back to Canada after their service there.

Spirit of the Sea

Devonport

Well Done Lyle.......

There was a huge storm rolling in, and were killing time before boarding  the Spirit of Tasmania

Spirit of the Sea Sculpture as a 700kg bronze statue

on the breakwater at the mouth of the Mersey River in Devonport in 2009  The Spirit of Tasmania Ferry pasts by it

Even before it was installed it divided public opinion into those who loved it or hated it.

At the time, it was believed to be the State’s most expensive public artwork costing $250,000.

Cheers Don

Was it bombed during the war?  It looks almost too perfect.

Feels like we are playing alone tonight Don.

I don't think it was bombed, it really isn't a target. The Meissen porcelain factory is close, if that was a target.

Have a great rest of your day, it's 2255 hrs. here on the smoky wet coast so be well. I'm going to hit the rack.

Dresden was badly bombed in the war.   I visited the Meissen porcelain factory with its beautiful china. I'll do some research. Sleep well!
