That looks like Donegal Town.

That is indeed Donegal. Well done.

While we're discussing a port in Ireland, I really should have included Ringaskiddy on our unseen ports list. I originally left it off that list thinking it was synonymous with Cobh. But I've since learned they are separate ports. An article from The Irish Times talks about QE2 alongside at Ringaskiddy and Royal Viking Sun docked at the deepwater quay in Cobh.

I know at least one contributor has mentioned they called at Ringaskiddy on QM2. If anyone has a photo of Ringaskiddy (separate from Cobh), I'll be glad to add it to our list of Cunard ports seen on this thread.

Looks very much like the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island (Victoria). If that isn't the location, it's certainly the same penguin species.

It is indeed Phillip Island, VIC, Australia.  Well done!  Many years ago I was doing a project in Melbourne.  The wife came down to join me for a weekend break, and we drove out to Phillip Island to see the penguins.  The birds spend the day out at sea hunting their food, and then return to the beach and their nests at sunset.  It is quite a sight to see them emerge from the waves in the twilight and waddle across the sand.  Mrs. sfred is a big penguin fan.  We also went to see them in Puerto Madryn Argentina during our QV South America voyage (photos in posts #2184 and #2186).

Excuse the digression folks but Solent Barbara is also a great penguin fan hence I included a colony visit for her whilst booking a private tour of the  the Falklands...

We’ve done “the Little Penguin show” twice, in 1999 and in 2019. The Visitors Center and viewing stands were much improved during the latter visit.

There is also a good-sized little penguin colony at St. Kilda, much closer to Melbourne, and near Dunedin in New Zealand (where they are known as “little blue penguins”), but the spectacle is greater on Phillip Island.

I'll match that with one taken from the window of our room when we stayed there: Waterford Castle Hotel, Waterford, Ireland. In your top picture, we were in the front corner room on the top floor.

I have the same problem as mentioned earlier about McAfee virus protection not allowing downloads of the unseen ports list, so I cannot scan the list for the correct port name. There is a port in Waterford, but there are size limitations on using it. A little further out (20 - 30 km??) is Dunmore East, which has been a tender port for some cruises. Quite possibly, it was also identified as Waterford, even though technically it is not.

Well done, @ExArkie, that is the Waterford Castle Hotel and the corresponding port on the unseen ports list is indeed Waterford, Ireland. @Colin_Cameron found a call there by Royal Viking Sun and I found one there by Vistafjord.

Dunmore East is also on the unseen port list, so we are treating it as a separate port from Waterford. Dunmore East is listed on a 2005 QM2 itinerary.

I hope I'm not duplicating (again!!), but this place is still on the list. I haven't any photos of the port but there should be enough clues in the photos (taken in 2008) to identify it.

I know things are slowing down a bit but that doesn't seem like too much of a challenge when there are still places like Philadelphia and Kuwait City on the list.

This, is neither of those.

No, this is neither of those, but it is Horta, Azores.

Good to see you still have photos to contribute, @Colin_Cameron. I may have to resort to posting public domain photos of places on the list I've visited, since it's doubtful I'll be able to find any more of my own photos.

Inspired by the location of @Palmeat's latest port contribution, here is a public domain photo of a port I actually have been to on a ship (the one in the photo actually), although I haven't been there on Cunard.  I've blocked out some giveaway hints on the ship, but can remove some of them if needed.

If I am not mistaken, which I frequently am, that looks like the ferry we took from the North Island to the South Island in New Zealand. I will hazard a guess at Picton being the port (many thanks for posting the list, as I now can tell which ports are missing), as that was the terminus from our start in Wellington.

I do not recall exactly what the port in Picton looked like, but we had lounge access on the ferry and there was free-flowing NZ wines, so perhaps that is understandable.

Well done, @ExArkie.  It is indeed Picton, New Zealand, the south island terminal of the interisland ferry from Wellington.  Here is the original photo without the blackout edits, which show the name of the ferry, the ferry line, and a .nz website address.  I've previously taken this ferry Arahura to Picton.  It can be the most pleasant ride, or alternatively a very uncomfortable one as the sea between the north and south island can be quite rough.

Well Done. Horta, it is.

Somehow I had missed this on the list earlier. I've also spotted another couple of ports that I may be able to find scannable prints of.

If we may be allowed to have more than one "to be identified" port photo circulating at a time, it turns out that I did have a picture of one of the unseen ports - I just didn't realize it. This was taken in 2010, so allow for some differences (I don't think there are any significant ones) in the building. Apologize for the hazy character; I was using a zoom on a relatively humid day.

We were not on a ship for this trip, aside from the harbor ferry, but our then-college-age son was on the one in the picture. Extra credit if you can identify what he was doing on it.

Absolutely no problem circulating another unidentified port photo, @ExArkie.

I'm getting a match to the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center in Norfolk, Virginia.

The ship is the Explorer which I've learned sailed for a study-abroad program called "Semester at Sea" from 2004 to 2015. My guess is your then-college-age son was participating in that Semester at Sea program in 2010.

Thank you very much for joining our game with your three QM2 port photos, @Starboardhome. Much appreciated. And two of your photos even show a Cunard ship per the long-ago-abandoned original premise for this game. Well done.

I've used up my guess for today, but rest assured I'll be trying to identify these photos of yours to have one ready for tomorrow. There aren't that many ports listed on QM2 itineraries we haven't identified yet.

Correct on all counts, of course. Semester at Sea was truly a life-changing experience for our son.
