I'm going to throw another curve ball with this contribution of mine today. This is a public domain image of a port that's not on our unseen ports list. I remembered reading on this forum about this being a replacement port for one of the current Cunard ships. And no, I don't mean the dry dock.

Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember reading about that too.

 

The ship’s obvious, and not a million miles from ‘home’. I think she’s taken a short trip across the river to Bayonne, New Jersey.

Quite right. QM2 called at Bayonne, New Jersey on September 30, 2006. Apparently there were three other cruise ships in Manhattan that day and Crown Princess was in Brooklyn, so QM2 ended up at the Cape Liberty cruise terminal in Bayonne.

No prizes for guessing the location of this photo but the conversation regarding Bayonne and Manhattan cruise terminals prompted me to look up one of my favorite photos, which I took from Weehawken, New Jersey. The date was April 25, 2004 and QM2 and QE2 were berthed together in New York. They were an impressive sight. I think this was the first and last time they were alongside each other in New York.

Nice photo, @Starboardhome.  I hope one day I'll have a chance to arrive or depart on QM2 from the Manhattan piers.  I imagine there's a sense of history that Brooklyn can't quite match.  (Of course, at the moment I'd welcome any chance to be back on Q-M2/V/E anywhere in the world.)

Bluemarble - thank you. It is very helpful to have the updated list. I think the photo I submitted of Mormugao should allow Goa to be removed however. According to the Cunard itinerary for my 2019 voyage, Mormugao is the listed port for Goa. I have one more "unseen port" in my  photo archives which I will submit later today. We will then be down to just one short of 500. Thank you again.

As we approach the milestone of 500 ports, here's a public domain contribution from another road trip.  I think this is the last port on our list that I have visited on a driving adventure.  A hint if needed is that this port has been the site of many tragedies, most long ago but one comparatively recent.
