hunt182644 Posted August 29, 2020 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2020 Anyone else have a British Isle's cruise cancelled due to the virus, and having trouble getting a guaranteed refund from a Co. in Ireland?

capriccio Posted August 29, 2020 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2020 What was their written cancellation policy? If you didn't have it in writing - either on the web site or via email (I always ask via email) - you may be out of luck.
CruiserBruce Posted August 29, 2020 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2020 Didn't get the answer you wished from the British Isles board, where you posted before? That would be the better place, as you have locals with far more specific knowledge about legal issues on refunds.
hunt182644 Posted August 29, 2020 Author #5 Share Posted August 29, 2020 # one it was a guaranteed refund. # two Yes I have posted this question before thought I would ask on a different spot. Thanks for being so very helpful.

sanger727 Posted August 31, 2020 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2020 Know nothing about your situation in Ireland but did see some posters discussing a similar situation in Greece. They should have been due refunds but as an emergency measure due to the pandemic the government allowed tour companies to give credits instead. I believe that they said that if the credits weren’t used by the due date it would turn into a refund instead. The measure was to help keep the money in the tour companies pocket in the short term to keep them in business. but yes, in general, not sure that you have much chance of battling a company in Ireland for a refund if you don’t live there. If you have a refund policy in writing I would do the credit card charge back.
