Rare John&LaLa Posted March 8, 2021 #151 Share Posted March 8, 2021 Retinking this Pinnacle limited access. As @Cigar King said, variable would open it up to interpretation. So that's probably to hard. You could create a hard line of points. 1050, 1400, 1750, etc.. Just pick one Let the membership know and be done with it. I just don't think you can make it change from one sailing to the next. Pins have expectations as well, that's life 4

If I was a Pinnacle and didn’t book a Suite and was accustomed to having unlimited access to SL/CK on Oasis class ships, I would be upset with losing access. Similar to booking a Suite an unable to enjoy the amenities we paid for. M8 Edited March 8, 2021 by Milwaukee Eight

We will probably still get the UDP and doubt we will even make it to CK for dinner. Breakfast and lunch do sound good. I wonder how much money they would be out if they offered a discounted UDP to Suite Guests? Maybe that would help with the crowd. We got that on Symphony and really enjoyed it. DH likes the breakfast at CK. But, for lunch he probably ate his fill of Playmakers hamburgers and wings, Sorrento's and El Loco Fresh. So, we didn't spend much time in CK this trip. Had to drag him away from the bar on the Suite Deck, however... The SL on boarding day is very nice and it did get a bit crowded. During the day when I went in to read, it wasn't too bad. At night we had dinner at a Specialty and also had the drink package so not sure how crowded it got. I don't remember the Allure being all that crowded when we sailed on her. That space seemed larger though.
nu_cruzer1 Posted March 8, 2021 #154 Share Posted March 8, 2021 Perhaps I am not understanding or appreciating the nuances. The CL allows entry to D+, Pinnacles and suite guests. The SL restricts entry to suite guests only. I don't see that Pinnacles have SL access as a benefit. Essentially, if Pinnacles are restricted from the SL lounge, then this would be an enforcement of the rule and not removal of a benefit. This would be no different than restricting entry to guests of suite guests. Under the current "rules" if Pinnacles are allowed to access the SL because of their years of loyalty, then it would be a similar argument to say that suite guests should be allowed to bring in non-suite guests since they've paid for access to the lounge. As a side note, I hadn't appreciated that one of the perqs for members of Casino Royale's Master Tier is access to the SL for themselves and everyone in their room (i.e., they do not need to be sailing in a suite). They need to quit trying to satisfy both with one solution. Edited March 8, 2021 by Cigar King

The number of suite guests is somewhat of a constant, regardless of their status. The number of Pinnacles (or D+ in the CL case) is the variable and that variable is both highly elastic and growing. And I agree with you. You quoted me on my one single line of "those that assume too much". I never questioned or quoted you on that. Can you, or can you not .....agree with me that there are suite guests that simply see a Pinnacle pin and assume they are not in a suite...but instead in a JS or lower and taking up "their lounge space"? That was simply my point....don't assume. Guess I am simply tired of the animosity towards Pins. RCI's rules and allowances...their choice, not yours...not mine.

Chicken sandwich is good, hot fries, flatbreads. Burgers are hit or miss. Laura likes the salmon. Oasis does it best, Harmony is bad from day 5 on Huge fan of CK on embarkation day for lunch. Not only a quiet place to enjoy a nice lunch, but someplace to drop our carry on bags as well. 🤗 That comped glass of wine and a beer goes nicely with that as well. 😉

That is simply a term some Pinnacles use for themselves. I know of a few that call themselves that with a "wink..wink". I think it's cute. Kind of like calling Pinnacles "Pineapples". STAR/Pinnacle/Prime 😎 Wore my Pinnacle name tag as well What I didn't do was go to SL or CK, no reason @twangster is correct though. Suites alone can overwhelm the CK/SL on Oasis. And @Milwaukee Eight is also correct. On 'some' sailings, Pins overwhelm the facilities. In my often stated opinion, the real problem is that CK wasn't designed for folks to eat every meal. It was a Dynamic Dining venue that has suffered under its success. I'm pretty sure when Royal invited the JS's and Pins to use it, they only counted on people eating there two or three times. And that includes suites We ate there a few times which was enough. We picked the good menu nights!

We have never spent much time in the SL. A bit too stuffy for us. And I remember the furniture in the SL on Oasis...kind of "early American garage sale" Very uncomfortable. We sit for a bit at the bar for a wine/beer mid afternoon, coming back from a port visit. Maybe sit a few minutes at the bar, if having to wait for our reserved table in CK. But otherwise.
