Ship tunnel to be constructed in Norway

at 118 ft wide this could theoretically allow smaller/midsized cruise ships to transit, provided the air draft and other superstructure elements of the vessel are within the safety limits of the tunnel height.  This will be fascinating to see what happens in actual usage.

Having reached out to touch the walls of the Panama Canal locks, I would love to be able to reach out to touch the walls of this tunnel.  Makes the Flam railway look so 'last century'.

If you look at the artist renditions, it appears there is going to be a good size walkway on each side...so don't think you will be reaching the walls...

It's designed mainly for the Hurtigruten ferries/coastal cruises.  About 600 pax max.
