where do refunds for cancelled cruises go if you no longer have the card used for the deposit?

When my August Marina Baltic cruise is officially cancelled, likely around May 1, where will the $1500 deposit go if the credit card used for it no longer exists? I made this deposit way back in 2019 and the card used is cancelled long ago. Does my TA have to notify Oceania of the new card to use or should I? Will they refund to a different card than that used for the deposit or will I have to wait for a check to be sent?

I had a similar situation a few years ago; I had to wait for a cheque.

I've never had an Oceania cruise cancelled before. I hope I don't have to wait for a check as that will take months. I can use the $1500 towards the deposit on a 2022 Baltic cruise that will not be on Oceania but will be on NCL.

If you know the credit card number you used contact the issuing bank and see whether you can move the transaction(s) along a little faster.

The old CC number should remain in your bank’s account record. The account’s the same - you just have a new CC number. Call the bank to confirm.

That’s OK if a person stays with the same bank.  When I had my experience I had shifted cards and banks so no connection.

Any idea how long it is taking these days for checks to be sent?  I know last year it was taking a very long time for O to process refunds.

I just cancel a flight to Europe for this autumn.  I canceled my United credit card a while back.  I have to wait for Chase to send me a check.  Standard procedure for business to only refund to the card it was charged on.  Not unique to Oceania.

The original bank paid O. O returns the $ to that bank. Simple.

Thank you.  I guess it just has never happened to me.
