Has anyone received any Blue Chips offers on the return cruises? Told the 6/5 Millie isn't offered to BCC

I am Amethyst and I booked the Millennium July 17 cruise through BCC. I have been a BCC member for several years and yet I have never received a single promo offer from them, either by email or snail mail, ever. So I just call them.

Generally speaking, ones play is all that matters, you gain status by your play, but I'm just pointing out ones status doesn't entitle one to a comped off.

Here's my last offer on 3/12, wasn't super interested in the itinerary and while I think they'll be sailing out of FLL in the fall, I'd prefer to avoid FL departures in 2021 so figured I'd let it expire and wait for another offer.

FYI, I'm out of the US.

Just received comped veranda on Apex Greece cruises

Based on this, I called them and asked if I could get on an Apex sailing.  They said they sent me an email (I've yet to receive it and checked spam but I'm sure I'll receive it sooner than later) and my offer on the apex was 50%.  I declined (lol).

Maybe this is the location to ask my question?
We were told by Blue Chip Club that the cruise we booked through them at a discounted rate would not qualify for Celebritys Cruise Insurance. Our cruise isn’t until Jan 2023 and we are about a month out passed the time for pre existing conditions. We will pay for the insurance but was surprised that I have to go to an outside insurance company? We would have gotten it right away (which was what we were told verbally) that we had up until final payment to get their insurance if we had known this. They said this was something new.

Anyone else been told this?

If you don't mind saying, when you call them what exactly do you ask them?  Do you just directly ask them if they have any free cruise offer for you or do you just generally ask if there is any promo offer for you?

Sadly by the time things get to where I can cruise again, my Amethyst level will likely be dropped but in case they extend status further I may have to call them myself.

Hi.  We were unable to add insurance also.  They said it was because it’s a free cruise.

Our was not free but a reduced rate given by the Blue Chip Club. We would have certainly got the travel insurance with an outside travel insurance company but now past the 21 days for pre existing conditions. He told us we could get it through them originally when we booked when we called back the other day with another question about something else and then mentioned the travel insurance he said Celebrity could not sell us any we would have to go to a travel insurance company. I know I’m repeating but just want everyone to know the predicament Celebrity left us in.

I called a couple of weeks ago. I knew which cruise I wanted (Millennium, July 17) and asked what fare they could offer an Amethyst level member for both a veranda and a concierge cabin. She quoted the fare - discounted, not comped - and the price was right by me - far less than I could get anywhere else non-BCC. I booked on the phone then and there.

Similar experience. And they added Cruise Care (for which we paid).

As you stated though, your play is what determines your status/tier level. The more play you do the more points you earn and the higher your tier level will be which you will (supposedly) earn you better offers. That being said I am Sapphire level (originally supposed to expire at end of 2019 but Celebrity keeps extending my status) but have not gotten any offers from Blue Chip in almost a year. I think the last one I got might have been around May of last year. I gave up awhile back trying to figure out the criteria for getting offers as there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who gets an offer when.

You didn't get the offer for the Apex sailings from Athens?

The other thing is X has a strong partnership with MLife so MLife play may yield comped offers.

I am an MLife player as well (Platinum due to my Celebrity Captain’s Club match but would still be Gold without the match) but still no Blue Chip offers in the past year. I get my Mlife offers constantly though.

No. Not that I would go even if I did. I find I don’t get many of the offers you all talk about here. Maybe it’s because I already have a booking reserved through Blue Chip with a substantial discount for 2022? Who knows.

I did not get any emails for either the Millennium or Apex but when I called they said Oh Yes you have offers for both. Sapphire level. My travel companion however said I am not going to fly all the way to Athens for a veranda. Seems like a reasonable position to take. I also think they will have to extend (again) the status levels.

The MLife play offers still come directly from X/BCC on a quarterly basis.

I would go on this is they offered it, the reduced capacity is especially appealing.

Did you request an upgrade?

If the cruise was comped, usually can upgrade to AQ for $10/night if interested

Number of comped cruises really has no bearing. I've had multiple cruises on the books, for the same year, but as of late......most have not sailed. I do however have one for the Reflection in late December...hoping this one sails.

We decided to pass on the Athens/ St. Maartan  cruises that were offered.

if not receiving email offers, maybe a quick call to BCC?

I had to remind them a while back, and it seems to have worked out well.

And no, I'm not a heavy hitter in the casino, but i do play.

In retrospect my comment about “just a veranda” sounds snobby and that was not my intention. We have been very fortunate to have cruised a lot and are admittedly spoiled. But we are both very much senior citizens and don’t tolerate long haul as much we used to be able to. I think I was influenced by another post that indicated that as a result of a dummy booking on one Apex cruise there were still something like 95 Sky Suites left so that was my target. I did ask about paying for an upgrade: not possible. Yes Aqua is nice ( I think however same cabin size ) But if I went into the PG not fully clothed I’d be harpooned so that is not a benefit. In summary a comped or upgrade Sky Suite would have overcome our hesitation to taking this journey. Especially where a false positive at disembarkation would extend our trip by ??? Days. My pet/house sitting costs would be astronomical.
