Club Orange questions

Do they still offer the stateroom upgrade with Club Orange?  If so, is it an assigned cabin or guarantee?

My relatives did this about 2 months ago and got an assigned cabin with the upgrade (and they were on a casino offer!).  It was a great deal for them and now they are able to join us in Club Orange for dining and during VIP boarding/checkin (we had already booked a Neptune).

They do but be warned, if you like the room you have selected you will be upgraded whether you want it or not.  If you like your room then buying Club Orange onboard might be the best option.

Can't you just mark your reservation DO NOT UPGRADE?

Besides Club Orange being included for Neptune and Pinnacle Suite guest is there a limit on how many guest can elect Club Orange?

Does Club Orange dining get overwhelmed at times and what is average wait time for a table on Pinnacle Class ships?

No, I called on one of my cruises and they told me the upgrade was automatic and I really like my stateroom.  The last cruise I was on there was an option to purchase Club Orange onboard

I am new to HAL and see they have "Club Orange".  I have an inside cabin in a location I like and I travel solo.  Is this Club Orange worth the extra money?  When you call to add it do they add it to you fare balance or do they require payment immediately?  I sail in 2022 and I'm just curious what your opinions are.

Thanks,

Linda

I too am a solo traveler and I LIKE Club Orange.

Am I understanding this correctly?  They were assigned as soon as they took Club Orange?  I called to check the price for our cruise for my sisters and the recording before I got the rep said “if you are calling about Club Orange please have the ship deck plans out”. I didn’t think to ask (like an idiot) if they got assigned right away.

Not for me but my friends as upgrades are really pricey and this could solve the problem.

Thanks kindly.

Isn't it true that upgrades through Club O are only if available and only within the same cabin category ... so for instance, if you're in a VB verandah, you might get a VA or a V but not a suite?

I did not do it myself, so let me re-verify.  Will post as soon as I can.

Yes, correct.  They are all in Vista Suites.  We are just looking to move them up to a better location without paying an arm and a leg 😉

Yes - thats what I was told.  Also, no upgrades for those already in Neptunes.

Thanks for confirming what I thought I had heard.  Not something we're ever likely to use because of what we typically book but good to know.

Neptunes don’t qualify for Club Orange - LOL - they wouldn’t want to ‘give away” the PS. 😉

When I received an email offering me Club Orange in 2019, I was told that upgrades were "in category" and being in a VA already, I accepted $50 in OBC instead.

When I called my PCC this year to purchase Club Orange, I opted to not relinquish my aft stateroom and did not receive any OBC.

I just booked Club Orange, and requested no upgrade, as we have adjoining cabins, and they couldn't guarantee the same with upgrade

Update - I checked with my relative on what they did 3 months ago.  Got a casino offer for a guarantee cabin (Verandah).  The PCC sold them the Club Orange package and immediately upgraded and  assigned them a specific VA cabin on deck 7, in a great location IMO.

This approach was alot cheaper than payer what HAL wanted for the same upgrade.

It is too bad too.  It probably causes quite a few people to hesitate.  Hopefully for you and me there will be an offer onboard.

I dealt with this issue when I tried to book Club Orange with an agent.  I called my PCC and he was able to book my selected stateroom and just billed me at the next lower veranda category.  I chose my favorite VB stateroom and he billed me at the VC rate.  You just need to get someone who knows how to do it.  You can’t jump from one category to the next (like V to SS).

I was booking a specific stateroom.  That was the issue - staying in that stateroom

You can choose your stateroom and HAL will charge you at the lower rate.  I requested an assigned VB stateroom and they billed me at the VC stateroom rate.

Thank you Dave.  I see others talking about paying for the lower category but if people are only moving up one category and have already paid for the existing category, then the Club Orange price on it’s own should work.

Really appreciate you coming back and confirming 👍 Thank you 🙂

That's interesting.  I tried to do it through HAL prior to transferring to the TA.
