No, I just bought the condo so maybe what I was calling the jetty is the pier. I thought they were the same.

So I guess idk what the jetty is, only the cocoa beach pier. I'm oceanfront a few miles north of this pier. I've got a guy in there fixing up at a snail's pace. .. looking good but he doesnt work fast. He keeps saying he will finish next week. . For sure I'm south of the port.

Here is a quick map to help you.  The top red circle is where Jetty Park and the JP Pier are.  The bottom red circle is Cocoa Beach Pier.

Lol well for anyone ... to see the ship sail by, the pier isnt free either lol hahahaha. But it does have a bar and restaurant.

I'm for sure a cape Canaveral address. South of jetty it seems ..if I was due north I'd be swimming.

Lol how do you know where I am? I'd guess 2 or 3 miles north of the jetty. I didnt know there were many condos north of me, some townhouses ...

I believe you said you're on/near one of the President streets?  You can't be far from me, but we're just under a mile south of the Jetty between Ocean Woods and Chandler Park on that map.  ☺️

We're up for sunrise every day but now I need to make sure we're up early enough to see the Mardi Gras come in tomorrow morning!

There was one today!  The sound is my favorite part.

One of our cruises out of Canaveral was the same day as a launch. We would ahve been in port to watch. The launch was delayed about 7 hours and we had already left the port prior to the launch. I was very disappointed. Lucky you. You condo must vibrate from the sound.

I was there for one. You dont miss them. My walls shook! I had the balcony sliders open. I was thinking I'm hurricane proof if that didnt shake the bldg loose. All I saw where the tail ends of the smoke trails by the time I ran to look. It is LOUD.

Sometimes it does but I do have to admit we've slept through a couple because they were delayed or I just plain forgot.  LOL

When we were at a hotel in Port Canaveral for our very first cruise. We lucked out and were surprised with a rocket launch.  Very cool.  I love cruising out of that port.  The only downside is the long drive to and from the airport, but it's worth it.

It's always been free.  That camera is pointed right at the Disney Fantasy which is in port now.

It lets me watch for a couple of minutes then goes back to main page.

Nope.

Does anyone know if the port cam has the ability to view where the Mardi Gras will dock (the new terminal 3)?

Tom

What about the ship's webcam(or is it called cruise cam)? I KNOW for a fact they used to have it up and running. But for the life of me, I can't find a link to it anywhere. Anybody have any suggestion on how to access it?

I think cutting all those out was one of their early cost-saving moves. I guess the bandwidth adds up. I checked a couple of weeks ago and none of them were active. I think at this point they should start turning them back on!

You will be able to see the Mardi Gras on the Port Web Cam. When she comes in she will go right near the camera and do a turn in the turn basin, she then will go to a brand new pier terminal 3. This should be picked up by the port camera as this pier 2 is where Royal Caribbean parks its new big ships. They won't be in port so the camera will have a clear view of Pier 3. Somebody mentioned Cocoa pier...not really going to see much that far down. I would honestly say if you go to the port go to Jetty Park or go to the nearby area where all the restaurants are.  Best bet...board the Casino boat and have a front row view.  It literally parks right next to where Mardi Gras will be located. For out of town guests...simply take 528 straight to the port, take exit B, at the light take a left and follow that road about a mile and a half straight into Jetty Park entrance or like I mentioned, park at Grills seafood restaurant/Fishlips area or really close at the casino parking lot which borders the Carnival Pier.

No, that's in front of Fishlips.  Mardi Gras will dock at Terminal 3 which is down by Jetty Park.

The turn basin is close to the restaurants....if you get there early you can see it come right at you.

Nothing really to see since they are usually just bobbing around at sea.

is that where Mardi Gras will sit?

As noted, the Mardi Gras's dock is pretty well directly east of the PC Webcam that is currently (as I type this) pointed at the Disney ship.  So if it were to simply arrive and dock port-side (facing west), it wouldn't be much to observe.

But the MG is going to sail past that PC webcam to proceed to the turning basin at the west end, which is the water area right beside where that Disney ship is docked.  So it should get a fantastic view of the MG port side coming in, the turn maneuver (which should be nicely lit by the rising sun in the east-north-east - sunrise at 6:25am), and the starboard side as she then goes back east to her new dock area.

And with two other ships accompanying her, it should be quite the spectacle!

I might just get up a bit early to watch remotely!

The camera rotates....so right now the only ship in port is Disney Fantasy so it is fixated on her. Tomorrow they will have the camera rotate to watch the ship all the way through the channel in the turn basin and back to its parking spot Pier 3.
