OT but my friend is on Edge - her FB shows all crew wearing masks and all guests wearing them when they boarded...🤷‍♂️

I know when in the terminal and boarding you need to wear masks. Also read that the crew will also stay masked...

So...my Uber app will work both at the airport and from my hotel?  That's the last piece of the puzzle for us...We're doing B2Bs (July 31/August 7), staying 4 nights pre-cruise and one post-cruise at the Hilton.  It will be great to not have to guess the cost and also not having to Euros on hand or pull out a credit card.

It will from everything I've read.  Sadly I will not be able to try it b/c I my travel friend is not willing to try this (she's never actually used Uber before, and despite my assurances on the simplicity won't budge), but would rather schedule a private car.   I like using Uber, and have used it all over the world.  It does save the hassle of having to have local currency, as well as being able to track your journey, and not being taken for a "scenic" route just to increase the fare.

Is there outside seating at the back of the Oceaview buffet?

As I recall there is a section... just below the sunset bar.. I think there is a staircase that goes from deck 15 to 14.

Is there an elegant chic night? If so what night?

Even if there is not, you can always make your own elegant chic night.  I def think rucrazy will let you borrow a tux and graphicguy might let you borrow some very cool socks, then again you can not wear socks as well.

It is so exciting to read about cruises happening again!  We are excited to be on Apex in Sept - last vacation was Baltic cruise in Sept 2019.

To those looking to CDC guidance on masking - I wish you all the best in your search for consistency.  I work in a hospital and when we have resident lectures in an educational conference room with fully vaccinated attendees we are required to be masked.  Take the same group and put them in a conference room in an admin building and no masks are required.  We are all doing our best and trying to err on the side of caution.

Thank you for reporting from the second voyage. The Maiden Voyage was very remarkable.

@Margret- it was great meeting you and you husband. I hope you have a great second week- I am green with envy. LOL.

There is a nice outdoor seating area aft- of the Ocean View. Loved to have breakfast there.

Not taking a tux for a week! We like to be in the main dining rooms for that night, and want to book some speciality restaurants.

I do have lots of pairs of very jazzy socks the latest with parrots.....you do need to wear something with them though!

Back from our Jeep 4x4 tour in Limassol Cypess. I’ll do a more thorough review after the cruise but It wasn’t all that I thought it would be. To answer a few questions, yes the thermal spa is open. The second night was a chic dress up night. The internet package I have is the basic all included package and remains very slow. I couldn’t even get onto CC last night to post. I’m not going to spend anymore time on the ships capacity as I think everyone gets it by now. We are probably less than 15% and while it’s great for us, I feel bad for the crew who are sitting around with no one to serve. But enough of that. Weather has been beautiful and the slow speed makes for a great ride. The food in Blu has been ok. Not up to what we experienced in Luminae but so far, just ok, the service has been phenomenal. The casino is empty most of the time with the exception of later in the evening. Even then, there are plenty of table spots and machines open. Tomorrow in Rhodes we are taking a tour to Lindos. If the WiFi cooperates I’ll post tomorrow evening.

Found out there are about 440 pax and 900 crew. Lots more people in Tuscany restaurant last night but still only about 15% full. Finally met someone from Mauritius! There's lots of crew from there! The crew is still ecstatic to be working. Looking forward to seeing more of the decor on the parts of the ship I haven't seen yet. Looks like I picked a bad week to try to skip dessert(s).

All sounds good so far - we are on a B2B on 7/24 and 7/31 - for those on a B2B from last week / this week, is the change over day any different because of the pandemic - can you stay on board or do you have to get off and check in again?  We have the same room and would like to stay on and relax at this time?

Thanks.

Anxious to hear the Cypress Jeep tour review. We booked that one too in two weeks. If it's a dud, we may want to re-evaluate options.

We are in the Grand Hyatt after the cruise - please let us know what it is like!  And following your Uber questions too - just reactivated my account in readiness!

Turn of events with my travel friend, so we are not staying at the Grand Hyatt now. 😞  That said, I do want to report that the concierge at the hotel was very helpful, and responded quickly to an email I sent with questions.  So that is a big plus, and when I return to Athens, I will definitely pick this hotel for my stay.

The Jeep tour went like this. We boarded an older model Land Rover with one bench seat in the back and two parallel benches in the bed. There is a driver so you don’t get to drive. We drove out of Limassol and stopped on a dam to view a reservoir.  From there we drove to an old town and walked through the town and looked at the church. From there a stop at a winery where we tried 5 wines followed by a stop at a waterfall. The walk down to the waterfall was a bit rough. From the waterfall we drove up a dirt fire road to a sweet shop where we tried some various sweets and sat for 30 minutes. From there it was back to the ship. IMHO if you are expecting a 4x4 off road experience, this isn’t going to be what you are looking for. It was a nice day but would have been a lot more comfortable with a better mode of transport. I personally would find another tour.

Thanks to Verizon for good internet. Yesterday in Rhodes, we went to Lindos and toured the Acropolis. Great tour but very strenuous. A lot of walking and 300+ steps but worth every one. The dinner in Blu was very good this evening and the restaurant is starting to grow on me. I can’t stop talking about the service and attitude of the crew. I swear that every crew member knows our names. You can really tell how glad they are to be back working.

the other night we ate at the Chefs table. There are a total of 6 people and the food and service was absolutely stellar. The chef discussed each course and answered questions from us all. The wine package that is offered is extra but if you have a bev package you can use those wines. The sommelier was fabulous and paired each course with wines from our package. We were presented a beautiful cook book at the end of the meal which I have no clue how I’m getting home. I think it weighs 10 pounds!

We are currently in Santorini in Firos having lunch. I’ll post more about today, tomorrow.

@PTCruizer enjoy lunch! Grateful for the info about the boats from Fira to Oia as the car hire company says he doesn’t have any cars available for our date!! Glad to know he’s busy! Back to the boat idea- Plan B!!

Was that a ships tour to Lindos? I seem to recall taking a public bus out there!

Must have been so amazing as I imagine the density of people was far reduced compared to pre-pandemic.

@little britain we stayed at Grand Hyatt pre and post cruise. I would not recommend the hotel due to location, but there is a nice rooftop pool with a view of the acropolis and the restaurant does a very decent breakfast and dinner. We stayed solely because my sister is a Hyatt Globalist :).

They do offer a shuttle during the day but it is limited in its times and does not go out/back during the evening.
