If I wanted to spend that much money on a cruise it would not be on Carnival. If you want that level of service other cruise lines would be a better choice for me. 

Plus..............none of those balconies or cabanas look private to me as it looked like on the video there was a walkway in front of the balconies/cabanas. I want a balcony that I can look out at the water, not at people walking by or in a pool. To each their own I guess.

Havana and Loft 19 require temporary membership, lol.  That leaves 3 pools for everyone else for a ship that is 180,000 tons.  The Sunshine is 100,000 tons and also has 3 pools.

I was earlier noting how much cabanas at the ports have risen in price (HMC for example).  Now I see them as a bargain. 

So much to see/do/eat on the Mardi Gras that I can't see spending that much time in one place to justify the price but someone will enjoy it.

My husband and I got one of the Loft 19 suites for a January sailing. It was a hefty $6900. Does this mean we have to pay the $500 a day on top of our cruise price?  To me, I read "complimentary access" to mean that I didn't have to pay to access Loft 19!

I just told my husband about this and he balked.  We are a physician and a lawyer. We own two homes and an office building.  My kids go to private school. And I don't see us paying $500 a day for a cabana. That's absurd!  And those who will, probably aren't cruising Carnival. Frankly, I have a pool at home in Houston and my second home is on the largest lake in Texas. I don't really find it that fun to sit out in the heat and humidity and roast any way!  Yeah, being waited on is nice, but you can be waited on anywhere on the ship.

And here is the other thing: A lot of the Loft 19 suites (at least the one we booked) have our own little spa. Or, at least, they are supposed to. And the balconies are bigger than the cabana.   Why am I going to go use a public one when I can just sit in the one on my balcony?

I guess there are only 4 of these cabanas. Time will tell if there are four families willing to pay that much for a week for up to 5 people.

 

Carnival has moved into the nickle and diming a whole lot more with this ship. Pay maybe $15 for the roller coaster, more private areas, more pay restaurants etc.

We have an excel suite on our two Mardi Gras cruises and I thought we would go ahead and buy so that I can rent out for a discounted price and make a little gambling money.

You will have included access to the Loft.  Just not a Cabana (extra cost).  Cabana are a tiny part of the Loft 19 area.  If you are in a excel suite, you get access to the Loft.  No extra cost.

With only 4, maybe they will get enough guests will pay that.  I know there is an excursion we did in Roatan that has an over-the-water cabana with full service for $350.  It always books up.  We did it one year at Christmas and it booked way out. I had to book in July! For my cruise in 2 weeks, it has been booked for a long time. But, I sort of feel like that having your own private little psuedo-cabin over the water with a swim platform, etc. is way cooler than just a little covered area on the ship.  

 

I am probably the wrong person to weigh in on this anyway because I am not a huge fan of sitting by the pool in the heat. I think it may have to do with living in Texas and many people either have their own pool or at least have access to a pool in their community or with the Y, etc.  It isn't really a treat for us. And it is hot.

Sounds like you have a corner excel suite.  Yes, there would be no reason to rent a cabana with one of those but you will probably want to take advantage of the Loft 19 area - which is included with your suite.

There is 12 Cabanas rent is from 8am to 8pm but it should take in account port days when you can't use unless you decide to stay on the ship. We received the offer because we have Excel Suites and it asked me to choose which one I wanted and had a map.  Not buying but was curious for that price I would expect a special lunch menu to be offered perhaps from the Steakhouse or Rudy's and perhaps a private massage area.

Oh, ok!  That makes sense.  I am confusing the two and I thought that they were making us pay for the Loft 19 area and I was a bit mad as I thought that was part of the reason to get the Loft 19 suite.

I hear ya there.  We don't hang out by the pool on a cruise.  We have pools in our community and not a fan of the crowds in the pools on the ship.  No thanks.  Plenty of things to do on the ship.  I will be buying Loft 19 access, if available, when we cruise on the MG in 2022 -- for sure!  Not Cabana though.

Nope Loft 19 is complimentary for all Excel guests.  We are looking at booking a Excel for May 2023 on the Celebration today.  They look great.

Carnival is pricing themselves right out.  NCL Haven is usually about $8k for 2 for a week.  That's gets you really exclusive area with pool, restaurant and all the free perks like drinks, wifi, etc.  Loft 19 is not worth it.  Go with NCL Haven

It just says you get first choice if you want to rent one. 

 

I felt that way about balconys. I had a oceanfront condo in boca raton before I moved here in texas that was on floor 14 with a direct ocean view and balcony I could sit out on any time I wanted.

 

Balconys on a ship didnt seem that special to me... though now I like them more and book them more, but I actually prefer a inside view on the rcl ships that have inside views. I'd rather see people.

Seeing these kind of luxury tickets really discourages me.  I like being able to look to Carnival for an experience where everyone is just laid back and there to have fun.  Now, I fear it's going to turn into just another place where Status Rules.  For God's sake, there's enough pretentiousness concerning VIFP levels, now there's whole areas where the proles can't even go to?

 

I work HARD to be able to cruise once every couple years.  It sucks to be poor, and it sucks to have people looking down on you (quite literally in this case) because you're not elite like they are.  Of course, I don't really give much of a damn, and the envy is totally mine to own, but there it is.

Cabana #'s 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and12.

 

I don't think they're going anywhere fast!

Compare this to virtually any casino hotel cabana price and it will sound exceptionally cheap.  I've seen them as high as 25k/day in Vegas, and hell, you'd probably even spend 3k/day at my closest casino in Louisiana.

 I've known plenty of people with lots of money who have no feeling of superiority. I also know plenty of people who like to feel superior that have no money. I wouldn't assume that everyone staying in this area is looking down on the rest of the passengers.

Last one we got at MGM was $500 for the day and included $500 in food and drinks. Heck, got one at Hard Rock Casino in Florida for $500 and included $250 in food and drink and that was just this past June.

Vibe beach club on NCL doesn't include a Cabana. 

Add: now that I think of it, they must be available, just that what I've read is Vibe pass gets you a nice chair and service in the Vibe pool area.
