Not sure why Princess has not automatically canceled the bookings

I can think of only 2 reasons: (1) Pfizer is applying to administer the vaccine to kids 5-11 in October so plenty of time for 7 yr old to get 2 shots [https://www.webmd.com/vaccines/covid-19-vaccine/news/20210913/fda-pfizer-vaccine-kids] , trial results for those 6 months to 2 years old are expected out in November.[ https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/572385-pfizer-plans-to-seek-covid-vaccine-authorization-in-november-for-kids-under ] (2) Janssen is also studying their single dose with an effective date just 2 weeks after shot [https://www.janssenmd.com/janssen-covid19-vaccine/special-populations/pediatrics/use-of-janssen-covid19-vaccine-in-pediatric-participants]

If Pfizer's 1st dose in November,  if Janssen's single dose in December would make the child eligible to cruise.

Not sure why Princess has not automatically canceled the bookings with the cabins with kids. Other posters have mentioned that there cruises were canceled by Princess before final payment was due. Anyone else in the same boat? No pun intended

Sort of... Different ship, cruise, and issue but still similar.

We're booked for 26 days B2B2B Austrailia, New Zealand, and Tasmania. The first leg departs January 3 from Melbourne. We live in the USA. How is it Princess doesn't realize that those countries won't allow us to cruise (or even visit) there?  Surely they must know about the restrictions. Of course, in your case the cruise is closer to sailing than ours and you're having issues. Maybe they haven't gotten to our dates yet. Maybe they aren't all that slick at keeping track of these things. Who knows. Meanwhile, final payment date is getting closer.

Update. We just received final payment reminder for September 30th for our family reunion cruise leaving December 29. Have two grandkids ages 2 and 7.

We are booked on the same cruise with family, including our 7 yr old granddaughter.  A few days ago, our daughter/son-in-law/ 7yr old granddaughter received an upgrade from a regular balcony to a Deluxe Balcony.

I think they are still holding out hope that kids 5 to 11 will have the opportunity to be vaccinated in time for this cruise.  We sure hope so...🙏

Spoke with Princess Rep. Princess not planning on allowing unvaccinated passengers before year end so we’d have to pay in full by September 30th, then hope kids can be vaccinated in time. We also have one adult with a mixed vaccine that so far is not  recognized as fully vaccinated. we’ve decided as a family to cancel. We will wait until kids are fully vaccinated and we are confident we can all cruise. A huge disappointment. Hopefully in the new year things will look brighter.

Probably the right decision. I hope things do work out for you in the future.🤞

Pfizer announced this morning that they have concluded their trials and will seek emergency authorization for the vaccine, for kids 5 to 11 years old, at the end of this month.

Good news for December cruises with kids!

Here's a link with a lot more details. It is the same vaccine, but 1/3 the dose. They are also hopeful for being able to have the vaccine for even younger children approved by the end of the year.

Covid-19 vaccine for 5- to 11-year-olds is safe and shows "robust" antibody response, Pfizer says - CNN

Good news indeed for vaccinated children being able to cruise before the year ends.
