Thank you! And sorry I missed it - your 1st post was sideways!!

You’re alright by me. This is confusing because heathy at sea indicates testing for St Maarten. Is that only for non vaccinated passengers or only from cruises originating from St Maarten?

Here’s what I found in Healthy at Sea this morning:

Eastern Caribbean
On your own tours are permitted in St. Croix, St. Maarten*, St. Thomas and Nassau
Tours provided by Celebrity Cruises are required in Tortola

*The St. Maarten government requires all unvaccinated guests age 10 and older, be tested 2 days prior to disembarking and visiting St. Maarten. Test will be provided onboard.

The local health authorities in St. Thomas have recommended that all guests, including fully vaccinated persons, wear a face mask while ashore and particularly while indoors.

We’re here in Sr Maarten. This is much too early for me to get off. No testing was conducted prior to arrival for vaccinated cruisers.

Your comments on the port availability and conditions are much appreciated.

Thanks.

It’s now time for an important discussion - Eden chairs!

Several people on another thread mentioned these chairs might have been changed due to multiple concerns about comfort and usability.

I don’t know what they were like before however many of them are very low.

Exercise  caution when getting up from a sitting position.

Ha! Someone on our cruise last month actually asked Captain Kate at her Q & A how many different styles of chairs were on the ship. She was specifically interested in finding out how she could get ahold of one in particular from Eden. Without missing a beat, Captain Kate replied, “Now that I know—478 different chairs.” Then she paused—“No, not really—I have no idea. Next question.”

Maybe the designer was trying to be "eclectic".

Great Aunt!

That’s Enchantment of the Sea. She is the sister ship of Grandeur of the Sea. That’s the ship that was cut in two and had a center section added many years ago. I sailed her out of Baltimore in 2011. Great old girl !

If anyone see's the Eden Cafe staff during noon-130pm ask if there's any easy way to obtain the cookies on a port day outside of noon-130.  Not asking for them to deliver them to the stateroom or have a waiter get them, just wondering if they can hold it aside somewhere and can pick them up whenever.

Asking for a friend...Ha ha

St Maarten

We arrived at 7:00 am and all aboard was 4:30 p.m. About half of the shops are closed. A light rain shower greeted us while we were walking around. One of the shop owners told my mom - we are so blessed to have cruise passengers here.
Prior to arrival I contacted a tour guide who I used previously. He never replied although the website is still active.

After shopping we came back to the ship for lunch and afternoon games. The Oceanview cafe was popular. The burgers are quite tasty.

The bracelet making class held in Eden was well attended. The activities staff said he was at capacity.

I didn’t get my nap today so I’ll make up for it tomorrow.

How were the shops on Boardwalk, Front and Back Streets?  Those folks were working so much harder than some other islands we visited after the hurricanes.  They were doing for themselves instead of waiting for a government rescue.
