We are on this cruise now.

Let me begin by saying that the crew has been the best we have ever encountered and we are both veteran cruisers.  The food has been excellent from the first meal we had to the lunch we just enjoyed.

However, we are very disappointed with the lack of activities. They “roll up the sidewalks” a little after 11:00 and the ship gets very quiet.  There has been no bingo (big disappointment for us).  We spoke to the assistant Cruise Director about the lack of Karaoke and we were assured that there would be 2 sessions.  Nothing listed on the app or in the “Celebrity Today”.

There was one later activity last night.  Ralph Harris is a great comedian and he did a 10:30 show.  He is (without a doubt) one of the best comedians we have seen on a cruise.  We can not recommend him enough.

When Ralph Harris’s show was over (at approximately 11:15), there was little going on. The “Celebrity Today” indicates that the Martini Bar is open until 2:00 but in reality, it rarely gets past midnight.

I also must note that Captain Kate has been missing in action, no sightings.

We will be preparing a detailed review when we get home but will be happy to answer any questions before we get to that.

@mjb1683I’ve seen Captain Kate almost everyday!!! One night at the Oceanview cafe having dinner. Several times at Cafe al Bacio getting coffee. Each time she has stopped to talk with passengers.

Karaoke was held last night in The Club. I’m not sure it was advertised however it definitely took place.

No bingo however Deal or No Deal has taken place everyday.

The activities have been plentiful.

The Assistant Cruise Director told us on Tuesday evening (when we inquired about the lack of karaoke), that Captain Kate was social distancing because Celebrity did not want to take the chance of her getting sick because that would mean that they would need to cancel upcoming cruises. It seems like someone is getting their lines crossed?

If you have seen Captain Kate, has she addressed the disaster that was embarkation?

If a tree falls down and there is no one around when it it does so, does it make any noise?  If karaoke was scheduled but not advertised, how could we attend it?

You might think activities are plentiful, but we would disagree.  Just like we might disagree on a dish in the MDR.

That is also what we noticed on our 7/17 cruise.

I spoke with guest relations twice inquiring about the Captains Q&A. This talk has not been scheduled however it’s usually on the last sea day. I’ll post if/when this takes place because it’s not on the app.

T&C, look out for it.....That was on the last sea day at 10.15 am followed by Bug Trivia at 11.15 am. It will be in the dailies.

Love hearing from those that believe in glass being half full.    I'm really looking forward to getting back on a Celebrity ship.

I know it will be different but I plan on enjoying myself regardless of what life throws our way.

Day 6 - part -II

Where has this day gone?

I did a bunch of those nothings again. I hope this is legal.

I started my day with going online to check what’s going on at work. Bad idea- drama!

The Oceanview cafe has the same breakfast selections however I have no trouble with being creative in my selections. Today I tried the banana bread- oh so yummy.

I had good intentions on attending the water Olympics/Aerobics. Maybe next time.

This afternoon the Eden Cafe was a good place for lunch. The sandwiches are good however too much bread. Easy fix, take the top off and have an open face sandwich. The minestrone vegetable soup is a keeper.

The obc doesn’t go far in the high end shops. I got a watch and it will be ready this evening after one link is removed.

The casino is quite popular this afternoon.

Tonight is chic night and lobster night in the mdr.

Not sure what else you want a Capt to do, she came outside into the "snake pit" vs tasking others to personally hand out water, an apology letter went out and a $200 OBC was given.  If one is unsatisfied, reach out to X customer service or Guest Relations, not the captain or any other crew members.

Thanks so much for sharing your day with us.  How are things set up in the Oceanview Café?  Are there other options for breakfast (one of the dining rooms, etc.)?  Enjoy the rest of your cruise and I really appreciate your reports.

Assuming things are about the same as the previous sailing, the Cosmo is the only MDR option that's open for breakfast and lunch.  Oceanview has never been better, not only is it not hard to find a window seat but the bus and wait staff are plentiful.

The Shows on EDGE were top quality and well performed,  same for guest stars and shows in the Club!   Big improvement over what we saw in the past on X

Thank you very much for your response.  How is the Oceanview set up?  Order off a menu, able to select our food with crew serving us, etc.?

Passengers were extremely casual on our cruise a month ago compared to previous Celebrity cruises. Is it same this week?

Casual however respectful.

Tonight is chic night. Women are in nice dresses and several have long gowns.  More women are in pants and dressy blouses.

Men are in collared shirts and some men have jackets and no tie.

Throughout the cruise I have not seen baseball caps or torn jeans.
