I will say that they are regularly not charging for the drinks at the casino bar, which I was not expecting. Since the Ultra promo was free drinks in the casino when playing.

Aug. 1 Horizon trip info. For the amount of people gambling I would say they were tight. Announced a few small jackpots in $1,300 range but betting an amount that should have produced a higher jackpot. The poker did payout a $8K and a $16K and I saw another hit a royal for $1,000 and a Buffalo for $3,500.

So as previously mentioned in a couple of posts, we lost power briefly 3 times over the last 3 days.  In all cases, it quickly came back on.  The Captain just came on to tell everyone of these and that the technical team was implementing a solution so that it will not reoccur.  He also said that the safety of the ship was never in jeopardy.  Interesting event, just one more thing to make this sailing a unique one.

So this is the Thursday morning view.  On the good news front, we did not have any power blips in the last 24 hours.

Last night we went ro the Steakhouse.  Earliest time slot we could get was 8:30.  It was still crowded when we checked in.  Very good meal     Tonight will be our last meal in the mdr and then we have Rudys Sea Grill tomorrow night at 7.

So (at least until we are in the aft excel suite and get in the Loft 19 area) our fav area on sea days is summer landing.  This area is much less crowded (IMHO) than the other pool areas (except Serenity) and most def has the feel pool wise of the Havana pools on Vista, Horizon, and Panorama.  I also enjoy the chop churn and proximity to it.

in this pool area there are six white loungers where people wait till someone gets out of and when they become free vet and use.  A new level of chIr hogs have arrived.  This morning this  couple left a shoe on each and went in for breakfast.  They beat me back out or I would have moved the shoes and taken the chairs.  SMH

Am sure there will be some back and forth with the design team and the Electrical engineers about why this happened and how to correct it during construction on Celebration which should have the same design as Mardi Gras.

Hey Jimbo - we skipped the Diamond lunch event last minute (never done one anyway). Instead opting for Seadogs followed by a carb fest at Java (strawberry cheesecake, a couple different donuts and cupcakes). As is often the case, they usually look better than they taste - with the exception of the cheesecake, it's always been a winner.

At any rate something like 250 diamonds on this sailing? I'm amazed at all the folks doing 2, 3, even 4 weeks onboard.

They did not say, but there was a ton.  At the end of the day you may have chosen wisely.

Can’t believe someone chair hogged the in water chair, next level for sure.

Of course as Murphys law would have it, when they finally gave up the chairs, they ended up next to us…..

Not sure I could have held my tongue back.

It got worse….both the wife and I are travel agents and unprovoked they started complaining about the one they used and the room she got them and how all TA’s are incompetent.  Then my better half mentions we are TA’s…shortly they moved again.

TAs are right there with lawyers, Realtors and pharma execs as The Worst.

It can be difficult.

I was in the casino for a short period of time last night (trying to use up the promo freeplay chips at the $25 BJ table) and a guy sat down next to me that I had spotted approaching the table. He had all the hallmarks of being a strip club owner or similar. With a big t-shirt that said "COVID-19 Vaccine? SU%K HERE", with an arrow pointing downward. He was maskless. I did not ask him, but instead asked the dealer (and he could clearly here me) if masks were required - affirmative reply. I then asked if that was enforced - quiet moments, followed by our departure. The guy had already bought in (with perhaps a ten grand wad) and gave them his Diamond card for tracking. I had no illusion that they wanted to start anything with him.

Now, I'm watching my back -- lol (kinda)!

I’m curious if they made you take a covid test before leaving the ship?  Also, since I also will be doing a back to back on a different ship, will I have to have another covid test to,prove I’m. It positive to get on the second ship?  Ty

This made me laugh because it's just so crazy.  It's like something you would see on a bad comedy.   I remember going on a Carnival cruise and some guy in the pool area wore a shirt that read "I pee in pools."  Classy.

For those worried about the storm, I think we are running full throttle to try to get up north of Miami by early tomorrow ahead of Fred and past his path. We think max speed is 18 knots from a T-shirt in the gift shop (truth) and we are at 16.8 with a 71 mph headwind. I imagine Scottie off in main engineering hollering “We’ve redirected all available power to the warp core, Giuseppe!”
