I just checked in for our back to back October cruise on the Azamara Quest for Oct 19, 2021 and Oct 28, 2021. this is the most encouraging news we've had since our last cruise on October 2019. I know that nothing is guaranteed when it comes to cruising nowadays but it gives us hope and hope is all we have right now.

Is anyone else having difficulty completing online check in? I can add all our details and photos and complete the credit card page and agree the health statement but can’t get any further.

Yes, having the exact same issue. Checking the health statement triggers some sort of loop and I get sent back to the start.

I checked in yesterday for the November Transatlantic. Encountered no problems and did print our boarding passes. Luggage tags not available yet ,but should be available about 45 days before sailing.

Just called them and they know it is an issue - they said leave it 24 hours for their webteam to resolve it. She also said that embarkation would start at 12.30, just in case we don't get as far as that bit.

Oh thank you. Will try again tomorrow.

BillC we are also on the crossing. Didn't know we could check in yet, looked and yes, I could, but we got 3-3:30, I'm sure our hotel will kick us out at noon, long sit in their lobby.

This is why I try to book with AARP hotel rates, since they often come with 2 pm checkout.  [I don't know why AARP thinks seniors are late sleepers, but I am so it really works for me!]

Tried today Liz and I couldn't complete it. Put all the details in and then it hangs on a page with the logo on it.

Hi Phil. Yes I keep trying especially as we had a reminder email today asking us to do it, but as you say it just hangs with the logo. Liz

It was at that stage that I was prompted to download the Celebrity App, when checking in for our staycation cruise.

Are Azamara developing an App?

There is actually in Azamara app, but it's useless. It's been out for a while, but only supports cruises on Pursuit.

One thing that seems common across all cruise lines is there total inability to get customer facing IT systems working correctly, Azamara are still using the Royal Caribbean/Celebrity system and I suppose will continue to do so while Royal Caribbean remains their booking agent. Hopefully long term Sycamore will invest in a functional IT system but I doubt it’s high on their to do list.

As an aside we’ve invested in Princess Seacation as a soft start to cruising again, everything now runs through the Medallion App which is cranky to say the least. Just reading the number of problems passengers have encountered on the Princess board is daunting, and once onboard there’s no alternative to the Medallion and App!

Our recent MSC trip was the same. I think they’ve rushed to app using without testing properly. Wasted for ever trying to get over £500 of a one night bar bill 🥶 taken off our account.
At least I’m not hearing about an onboard App for the quest trips. MSC used a wrist band like a Fitbit for contact tracing. I’d rather that than a medallion dangling everywhere.  I’m presuming you are allowed to carry your medallion in your bag/pocket or is it tacky lanyard wearing all the time?

They supply f.o.c a holder and a lanyard, we won’t be using the lanyards! So The medallion will have to be in its holder in pocket or bag.
You can purchase a wristband like those for a smart watch for $10 or a recycled sea plastic fabric type for $17. There’s also a range of jewellery for ladies, but as its only 5 nights and doubt we will be back anytime soon won’t be bothering with these.

Main problem with the app is its written for the latest software versions, I’m ok with an iPhone 12 and iOS 14 but those with earlier iPhones and anything before iOS 13 are having problems. That said today it worked on my phone but wouldn’t open on my iPad I had to delete and reinstall it to get it operating.

Way too much hassle for many!

DH and I were talking this morning.  He reminded me how many times on the last evening I have ended up stuck at the computer trying to download my boarding pass but ended up having to help someone who did not know their login password email address etc.
We then thought about the completion of inbound passenger locator forms. Many travel agents are doing these for their guests on the way to a holiday but I hope the cruise line is ready for the guests the last night who are trying to input to the forms so that they can legally travel.  I have found it hard enough in the past when the pc/printer has gone down to get an IT specialist from the ship to even come to the living room and help guests out-  it’s a minefield

I remember having the app for Pursuit when I did South America and didn't use it. I just found it confusing. I could do what it was supposed to do easily enough myself. I thought it gimmicky.

I remember that. Tony kept pushing it but the only person it worked for was him!  Again it was something that wasn’t properly tested and the WiFi couldn’t fully support it   It also impacted the performance of the paid for WiFi. I recall it was to be rolled out to the other ships but that move was quietly forgotten
