Princess likes to play with us with what they call things.  They have been changing (dumbing down) terms we have known forever, like tender and gratuities.  This is a new one and makes the least sense to me.  Is this because we Americans have known these tiny pastries as Petit fours and the rest of the world calls the by a more European name gourmandises?   Princess never ceases to amaze me with some of the things they change for no really important reason except to change.  (With the exception of when it comes to money matters where the constantly cheapen or eliminate the things we know.  When it comes to money matters I may not like, but I can understand)

I googled and petit fours are small bite-sized confectionery or savory appetizer.

gourmandise is appreciation or interest in good food and drink.

Looks like petit fours is much more accurate.

Winner of the Alaskan Voyage photo contest.  You really need to have this made into a print AND submit it to Princess in one of their photo contests.  Absolutely spectacular.

When we were on the Majestic in October 2019 sailing out of Sydney, the karaoke suites were turned into sort of an internet cafe.  And now they are just plain closed.  I do wonder what Princess will do with them in the long run.  Maybe turn them back into spa treatment rooms?

More interior cabins to generate additional revenue.

Quick question that may have been asked. wondering with the reduced occupancy did anyone on this voyage ask at guest services to see if a cabin upgrade was available upon boarding.

We didn’t and I haven’t talked to anyone on board who asked about an upgrade. Sorry I can’t answer this one.

So, has anyone had a crab meal in town anywhere?  If so, where and how was it?

No….I don’t eat fish so can’t offer any help on this question.

Did a shore excursion today to Steve Kroschel’s Wildlife Center. Took at 45 minute ferry to Haines and then a 45 minute bus ride to get to the place. Enjoyed Steve and his quirky personality and seeing the animals up close. 382EC4EE-C554-4180-880C-8692E69042C3.thumb.jpeg.9df90d95111ca5753f1df6c9c118bffa.jpegADE5256D-B3FB-4E1D-AC04-A135B81EA5D2.thumb.jpeg.438edb6cb34cd8420231c9c65e510fb1.jpeg1252DF60-59A6-4946-BF58-5BC331BB6550.thumb.jpeg.f0490b80cf679b39879853f7d6002d3c.jpegEF8B942B-319A-46A1-9123-A207B8D2B090.jpeg.4f377ff3f6b9d40d875083e33d3401b7.jpeg6D0B2CA0-558D-4C32-8FB7-A19D3211D559.thumb.png.ce230821c79a429061685359040b2415.png1DB13923-B3B3-4727-9ED3-3FBD92D81D5D.thumb.jpeg.de15833169b8fa24b233de796ad4dad5.jpegB97DC6A3-473B-4405-A72E-58F633D8902E.thumb.jpeg.d1a59a088eb0aed5afada06bcafdfe52.jpeg1B08D3ED-E25A-4D52-ACED-1287D7B1B7C1.thumb.jpeg.3636c7be76895a1fb92f30cb46528fe2.jpeg9AE04F2F-6EDA-48E4-A145-1FEEC30BF3AF.thumb.jpeg.041dd7f6e234a252935b01af17768dc3.jpeg

There isn’t a link on our cruise this week. I ordered 2 lattes in the app this morning and was charged for one of them. So you need to each order your own drinks if you don’t want to be charged. Hopefully Princess will link them in the future so you can order a drink for you and your partner.

I can't seem them ever doing this. If your spouse feels tired and goes to be early Princess really doesn't want you to be "sharing" the package by purchasing a drink for yourself along with a "drink for your wife" and then just giving that second drink to someone else. You know it would happen...

@KLM3164 Was this an excursion you booked in port or how did you go about this? Thanks

I believe you have to do the Port Valet by today.  It is a great deal.  We missed it and had a 4:00 flight out of Seattle.  Air Alaska would not take our bags until 4 hours before our flight so instead of being able to Uber Seattle we were stuck with our bags at the airport.  There is no cost to you other than what the airline charges.  We flew first class so there wasn’t going to be a charge for our three bags.

The Seattle airport is a good place to hang out so all was not lost.

@geoherbYou mentioned that Delta charged you when you used the Port Valet system. Was that because you didn't have free baggage and this was just a regular baggage charge you would have paid to Delta with or without the Port Valet, or is this a fee that Delta charges you even if you have no luggage fees from them but want to use this service?

We booked the excursion through Princess before the cruise. We did it through the Cruise Personalizer on Princess.com.

I think we are out of luck because it doesn't appear to be an offering in the personalizer for the Sept. 26th sailing. Looks like a really great excursion!

Delta charges whatever you would normally pay but it goes on your Princess onboard account. If you have status to get free luggage on the airline you're flying, there's a place to put in the info--e.g., first class or loyalty club. I loved the service last week. It was great not to have to handle my bag again after putting it outside my cabin last week until getting to my home airport.

@KLM3164 omg thank you we have this tour planned so amazing.   Did he still have the moose as well?

Sadly his moose Karen and a younger moose were killed by a male brown bear earlier this year.

Oh no that's sooo sad. Not that I want any moose abandoned but maybe he will be able to help another one like he did Karen not that she can be replaced in his heart.
