Boarding early if in a Suite?

I know I've read here that if you have a suite, you can actually arrive at the port up to one hour prior to your assigned time.  Is this true if you are in a Junior Suite?

I have also read from others here on CC that suites have a 1 hour window before assigned time. If that is true JS's should be included as while they aren't "true" suites in regards to certain things like access to the CL they do carry the same priority boarding as other suites.

We had a jr and had a 100-130  time and got to terminal around 1225 and walked right in. There we no normal suite checkin for Sky or sea but walked straight to test /document check and baggage scan and on ship in ten minutes. The waiting suite area also for Jr was blocked off and not in use

There used to be a FAQ at RoyalCaribbean.com specifically about this, and it stated that you can check in 60 minutes prior to the check in time you selected.  I saw it a couple of weeks ago, so I am trying to find it again...

But as everyone knows...this stuff changes almost daily.

Well it seems they removed Priority Boarding from Sea Class.  However this contradicts other places on their website that shows that it is a benefit.  So really who knows?

Priority boarding is/was a JS perk.  The boarding pass used to say "suite".  I note my 2BR GS says "choice".  What does your boarding pass say?

Hmmm!  I'm interesting in hearing how this plays out... We're also in a 2BR GS.  keep us posted.

Suites can board early but your pass has to say either sea, sky or star class. Choice has to do with casino level. Several people since the restart have posted about this. Also the terminal plays into things as well. Some terminals like in Miami have a suite boarding area, while in PC they don't. I also have heard that some jr. suites don't say suite so they have not been able to board early. All in all YMMV as I heard recently they haven't even been enforcing the strict boarding times.

Found it.  This is where I saw it last and was dated 08/24/2021.  So according to this, suite guests are allowed to check-in up to 60 minutes before or after the 30 minute selected check-in window.

Thanks, I was looking for that. Someone on FB tried to tell me that the hour early window was only for higher class suites and not JS, but I could not find the info I had seen. Odd that they only have it on the C&A page and not on the embarkation info (I know that part of it applies to C&A status, but not for most people).

So, if I'm reading this correctly, CA and a Sea Class boarding pass....we are eligible for boarding 1 hour early than the scheduled boarding time? We're leaving from NJ, has anyone had a recent experience during COVID at this port? TIA

I can't speak to that port, but I can tell you that the "1 hour early" is limited to when the terminal actually opens for boarding.  If you have the earliest arrival time already, then it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to get there much earlier than that.

In a suite you can show up just about any time - there’s a separate line.

Thank you Biker19. Is that specific to this port? Or, are you speaking from experience in regards to being in a suite? Thank you for your feedback!

We are sailing this week on Enchantment of the Seas from Baltimore. We are in a JS and also have Key, and would like to board as early as possible, but on the other hand, we don’t like the idea of waiting an extra hour at the port. Our scheduled check-in window is 10-10:30 AM. As Suite guests, as I understand, we are allowed to arrive and check in up to an hour earlier. But what I would like to know is whether it makes any sense to arrive earlier than 10 AM. What are the chances that they will actually start boarding before the earliest scheduled time?

Does anyone have a firsthand experience with that? Have you ever been able to get onboard before the earliest scheduled time? Just curious. Thanks!

I'm not sure about Baltimore, but most terminals don't open before 10:00 or 10:30am, so arriving an hour before your scheduled 10:00am time may mean you'll be standing outside waiting for the doors to open.  The "arrive an hour early" for suite guests is for those who selected a later boarding time.
