Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily Report.  Happy Hump Day.

Great collection of days.  A big thank you to Emergency Nurses.  Fossils are fascinating.  Sometimes, it's good to be skeptical.

I don't think Louis XIV is correct.

The meal sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing the recipe.

I'm sure I'll like the wine, hope the drink is good too.

Prayers for everyone.

Have a wonderful day.  Stay safe.

Good morning and thanks for the daily report Rich.  Emergency nurses are so important and definitely deserve their own day.  Skeptics are important as long as they don’t take things too far. My favorite fossil is a Petoskey Stone, one of which I have on display in the den.  Having three sisters, I can say that Louis XIV has a point, sometimes.  The meal suggestion sounds very tasty.  Have not been to today’s port so I look forward to seeing the photos.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list and cheers to you who are celebrating a happy event today.

Thank you for the hump day Daily, Rich.  Fossils have a special place in learning our history.  Skepticism is great where appropriate but can be carried to extremes.  Emergency nurses deserve a day every day, especially in these times.  Both of the Louis XIV reconciliations can be challenging.  I've been to Coquimbo but I think only on Crystal Symphony.  Chicken Posole sounds interesting but I think I'll stick with my alternative,  Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, Chicken Tikka, and Blackberry Crisp as served on MS Amsterdam October 13. 2017.

Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the RecipesRecipes.

A huge shout out of gratitude to all emergency nurses. Fossils are interesting and can teach us a lot. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt in people and most situations, but I feel like I am becoming more and more skeptical as time goes by.

The meal sounds good, looking forward to the recipe.recipe.

Well, CC seems to not want to let me tag anyone this morning. (Minor compared to what some of you have been experiencing.)

DH did not sleep well, (a lot of coughing), which means I didn't either. (I've been awake since 1:45.) The doctor had told him the cough would subside, which it has, but could return in full force off and on for a while. So, I don't know how much progress will be made today. Maybe a rest day is in order.

Wishing each of you a beautiful day.

🙏 and 🎉 for those on our lists.

Good morning everyone. I am coping what I wrote last evening at the end of the day.

An update on the unvaccinated aide. He is a very nice guy who was afraid to get vaccinated until the last possible day he could work without it. In his wisdom he asked Sam to accompany him for his second shot which made us laugh. How is Sam supposed to get them help or home an hour away. The agency has apologized profusely for not checking this whole thing out but they say we were in such a turmoil when we fired the last person they didn’t think to check it out when he said he was vaccinated. So today they sent their nurse to do a covid test on him and will do so every week till 2 weeks after he’s vaccinated. Of course it’s too late for us to do anything to prevent us from getting sick from him. He did quarrentine for 2 weeks before coming here. He exposed us and my daughter and her husband so we’re just hoping for the best. Unbelievable, but on the bright side, he’s a very nice soft spoken guy and Sam really likes him, so as upset as we are about his only having had one shot, and not telling the agency we’re now just crossing our fingers. This has been hell for us for 4 months. I was going to change agencies but the owner of the other one told me my long care insurance company owed them $48,000;and lost all their paperwork. That made me stay with what we had. These aides make $12 an hour so how bright can they really be ? It’s very difficult to get help now in this business as well as in others. People don’t want to work. I am paying three times what he makes and the agency pays their office staff and keeps the rest.

Good morning.  Emergency Nurses deserve such a big thank you.  I'm not sure about Skeptics day (lol) and loved looking for Fossils when we were in Colorado.

Interesting quote and meal.  Have not been to todays destination.

Heard this morning that the Canadian/US border will open!

Prayers and toasts to our lists.  Virtual hugs to all of us.

Please continue to stay safe, social distance, and wear your mask.

Bobby Burns:

Ingredients
1 ounce blended scotch whisky (ideally a 12-year-old)
1 ounce sweet vermouth (such as Noilly Prat rouge)
1/2 ounce Benedictine
Garnish: lemon peel

Steps
Add the scotch, vermouth and Benedictine to a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
Twist a lemon peel over the glass to release its oils and then drop it into the drink.

Good morning, everyone!

It looks like we have a couple more summery days in store here in northeast Ohio before the fall weather hits us on Saturday.  Of course, that is subject to change.

I will celebrate the emergency nurses and have enjoyed being on a dig for fossils in the past.  I am skeptical of the skeptics these days.

Today's meal sounds pretty good to me.   Chicken posole can also be spelled pozole.  And, as usual, there are variations.   The first recipe is for Easy Chicken Posole.  https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/155184/easy-chicken-posole/  Please note that you do not have to add the cilantro.  You can leave it out entirely or substitute parsley.

Next is a recipe for Instant Pot Chicken Posole Verde:   https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/268876/instant-pot-chicken-posole-verde/

And a recipe that is a little more on the traditional side:  https://www.cookingclassy.com/chicken-posole/

Thanks for the Daily, Rich and our Hump Day smile 🙂

Great collection of days.  Emergency nurses (and all nurses) deserve to be celebrated every day especially in these trying times.  Love fossils and the stories they tell and reveal.  I guess I’m celebrating Skeptics day since I’m getting skeptical about my gardening list.  DH thinks I have a lot done and all I can see is what’s left 😉 Oh well, one more day before the rain hits to try to get there.

I think the two women Louis the XIV was referring to were his wife and mistress 😉. Interesting meal suggestion.  We still have turkey to eat.  LOL.

@JAM37sorry to hear about the bad night for you and your DH.  Hopefully his coughing subsides quickly and does not come back 🤞

@mamaofamiyou have really been going through a very difficult time with all of the trials and tribulations.  I hope things improve for you quickly. You don’t deserve or need this aggravation and fear of infection 😢

One last unseasonably nice day here before the rains and cold hits so I’ll try to make the most of it.  This is why I make a list:

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!!!!!

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Emergency room nurses world wide deserve so much gratitude- a day is the least we can do.

I laughed at today’s quote from a man that could have any male who disagreed with him killed. He had no trouble reconciling those differences.

Roy thank you for our lists. Morning Dailyite family! @dfish Debbie, hope the second procedure helped. @VMax1700 Colin, hope your back and ankle are better, so you can enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Lots of downpours this morning. Bindi was NOT happy. At all. Hoping to find a break for a nice long walk. And maybe some gardening. I will have to rummage in the fridge to determine what is in store for dinner tonight.

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Stay well everyone!

*********
Frescobaldi Castiglioni Chianti
All released vintages of this wine share the same very, very good ratings. The 2018 and earlier vintages are ready to drink now. Reasonably priced with online prices starting at $11.97.

Winemaker Notes

Chianti Castiglioni 2018 features a beautiful ruby-red color with elegant purple hues. Delightful fruity notes immediately emerge on the nose: cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry. Floral and fragrant notes such as violet make an appearance later on. On the palate, Chianti Castiglioni is lively, soft and enveloping. The finish is long and persistent, with the after-taste confirming the fruity aromas previously detected on the nose.

Pairs well with full-flavored dishes such as pappardelle pasta in a meat sauce, as well as roast chicken, sautéed beef with vegetables, and medium-aged cheeses.

WS89 Wine Spectator

Full of rich, dark cherry and plum fruit, this red is balanced and charming, with accents of earth and iron adding detail as this winds down on the finish. Drink now through 2023.

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily report.  @dfishthe recipes look very good today.  Today’s weather is wonderful for mid October.  Sad that I’ll be stuck inside working.  Yesterday the latest book in the Mrs Murphy series by Rita Mae Brown arrived in the mail, I hope to read during a rainy weekend. I hope that everyone has a good day today.

Today's sunrise is a bit of an accident.  It's from a 2015 Queen Mary 2 transatlantic leading to a return transatlantic on Allure of the Seas.  Taking a it of diversion from my morning walk I was exploring QM2's magnificent bow that adds so much to her sea keeping majesty as the sun just started brightening the sky on October 13.  It was the second sea day of the crossing.

Good afternoon.

It is currently 55°F cloudy but dry.

We had a nice church service this morning and I said prayers 🙏 for our care list.

Thank you Rich for an interesting daily.

Thank you Roy for your sterling work in keeping all the lists updated.

Emergency nurses are invaluable when we need them.

I am rarely sceptical of things as I believe what people tell me unless I know differently.

Interesting quote,food and drink.

Never been to today's port so looking forward to seeing photos.

Take care everyone and best wishes to all those currently or soon to be cruising.

Graham.

Good morning friends (and family)!  Since I got up and worked out on the treadmill this morning, the sun rose and since then we have had fairly dense fog descend on us.  Normally the fog leaves as the morning goes by.  Strange.

Thanks to @richwmnfor the Daily, and to @rafinmdfor our newly updated lists.  Prayers continue for those on the Care list.  Cheers 🥂to the happy members on the Celebration list.  I hope all have a great time on their current and upcoming cruises.   @VMax1700I pray your back and ankle problems are easing and you are still able to enjoy your wonderful cruise.  @mamaofamiyou have been through so much during these last 4 months and are due for some relief.  Hopefully none of you test positive and the aide works out okay until your first one gets back home.  Good luck!  @JAM37I'm sorry to hear of DH's cough from his Covid recovery.  I never had Covid but have had a chronic cough for several years.  It's infuriating!  The prescription nasal spray the ENT prescribed only improved it slightly.  But every little bit helps I guess.  Good luck to him too!  A day of rest sounds like a good idea.

I'll add my thanks to the ER nurses who deserve our gratitude for the hard work they endure each shift.  Very stressful work as well.  Not sure about the skeptics!  Fossils are awesome finds.  The quote is a little unfair I'd say.  And the menu suggestion looks interesting and I can honestly say I've never eaten that dish before.  Great job on the recipes and photos @dfish.

We stopped in Coquimbo, Chile on two of our South America cruises.  Once in 2012 on Star Princess and again in 2015 on Ruby Princess. I'll dig out a few photos.

Good morning Rich. Thank you for our Daily. Good morning Dailyites!

I appreciate nurses and know how hard they work. Their dedication to their profession is admirable.

Yesterday we took a break and left the workers here. Went for couple's pedicures then dinner with friends. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. We got home after 7 and the crew were just packing up.

Today Allen is getting his allergy shot and we will go somewhere for lunch. I have no idea about dinner.

I'm so sorry to hear about Sam's aid.

@JAM37 hope your husband is feeling better today.

Debbie I hope your 2nd procedure helps.

I had a fossil for a long time in my room as a kid. I don't know what happened to it.
