stockholder benefit question

I don't see my credit for my three upcoming cruises.  Should I be able to find it on my account page under future cruise credits/on board credit?  I'm getting very frustrated about this since I cruise the end of November.  I applied the end of September.  Sent an inquiry e-mail to World Cruise the middle of October only to receive a return e-mail saying they are busy and to give them ten to fourteen days to get back to me with a real answer.

Mine did not show up prior to my September Alaskan cruising, but did appear on day 2 of the cruise. Just a nice little benefit to sweeten the cruise with. DW assumed it was hers - and went shopping for the GrandKids presents - It was nice while it lasted.

In the past I have seen the stockholder credit AMOUNT on my booking reservation, but no notation about what it was for - it was just lumped in with the other OBC.  The way I could tell was that it is only applied to one person in the cabin, so when I saw that my OBC was $100 higher than my wife's I was fairly certain we got it.  Of course this trick does not work if traveling solo.

By the way, we are on a casino OFFER this upcoming cruise and were thus denied the credit.  When we use a casino RATE we do get the credit.

It is not shown online - only on your paper confirmation. Last line in Guest Information section.

Clarify please.  What do you mean by paper confirmation?  Do you mean on my boarding pass?  I applied for the stock benefit after I got my confirmation for my cruises from my cruise consultant, if that is what you mean.

I think they mean your cruise confirmation (the 4 page document)

As to the stock credit - I emailed and had a reply confirming my stockholder obc in about 5 days.

I’d re-email them if I were you if you haven’t received anything.  Or alternatively, call to see if it has been processed and ask them to send you a confirming email.

If you use a TA, you can ask him or her to check if it has been applied, or even if your request has been received if it has not been applied yet. (I have been told by my TA that they have been known to lose the fax requesting the shareholder's oBC,)

No, not your boarding pass. As @kazu said it's the 4 page confirmation you get when you book or make a payment. We apply for the Shareholders Benefit before making our final payment, so it's always on the final confirmation we receive. Our TA usually sends it via PDF; I print it out and bring on the cruise as proof. I also bring the e-mail confirming the request was granted.

I'm on the Nov. 7 Konigsdam. I applied about three weeks ago and the credit showed up within a few days.

You are lucky.  I’m pretty sure I applied for mine 2 weeks ago and crickets are chirping.  That said, my cruise is in the spring so maybe they are doing closer in first.

My advice is simple and based on some experience :).  E-Mail (Fax is another possibility) your request with the necessary attachment (proving stock ownership) and ask to be notified via e-mail when the deed is done.  When you do not get a response resubmit your request (noting it is the 2nd request).  Print out copies of your requests as well as the necessary supporting document.  If you do not not see the credit on your onboard account after a couple of days of the cruise make a friendly visit to Guest Relations (do this at times when the counter is not busy) and bring along the copies of your previous requests to HAL.  Guest relations will take care of the issue and you will get your credit within a few days.

HAL still recommends faxing to 1-206-270-6080.  I always request e-mail confirmation and the last request took about a week.  I faxed it on 9/22 and the e-mail confirmation came on 10/1 for my 11/7 cruise. This time I booked through a PCC so I may ask for a copy of my cruise confirmation a week before a cruise.  Then I will be sure everything is in order.   We also asked for the Veteran’s promo OBC.

Yes, I sent it in just as you suggested.  I don’t think that is a mystery.  I have a job that I work very hard at.  I don’t have time to do this every other day.  Also by doing this, it adds unnecessary emails that they have to go through.  Why add to that?

Yes, a few  months ago it was only taking a few days.  Now, not so much.

I suspect, as you do, that how soon the cruise is makes for a big factor.  Also, I should have noted, I got no email notice--it just showed up in my account.

You should get an email back from them confirming when it has been applied but as far as I know you can't see it anywhere. Once we got onboard we saw the OBC on our account (all our credits were lumped together as "promotional credit" but added up correctly). I highly recommend printing the confirmation email from them and bringing it with you just in case.

I think they are very backed up right now. My last email was 10 days ago and nothing but the automated email back yet. My TA sent in several transfer requests for bookings I had made and finally had to call her rep after 14 days or so to get them to expedite things. If you get nothing back you can try calling 800 522 3399 and if nothing else I would bring a print out of your documents, your email (or multiple emails) to them, and the auto reply to show guest services and hopefully they can apply it or provide the documentation after the fact. Not sure what kind of allowances they might be making now due to their backlog. Hopefully they are prioritizing by sail date and get it all applied before you sail.

Interesting, I have always gotten email confirmation back. I wonder if they are streamlining it due to how far behind they are.

I have applied 2X.  I mailed the first one in Seattle (their headquarters) 9/12.  I faxed the second one 10/13.  nada.  zip from them!  I sail 12/5

This is an important distinction for those of us who occasionally get Casino offers and/or rates.

Apologies to all--I just realized I viewed it on the TA site. I cannot see the OBC credit on the consumer facing Navigator or HAL site--but I can see it on the TA site....if you used a TA check with them and they can see if it has been credited yet or not.
