Navigator Renamed: Popsicle of the Seas

Just a heads up to anyone heading to California to get on Navigator anytime soon...it is absolutely FREEZING onboard inside. Pack those winter jackets and gloves because you're going to need them. Everyone is walking around with coats on and some are wearing hats and gloves. Hallways, Promenade, Schooner Bar, everywhere. Our stateroom, even at full hot on the thermostat, remains the temperature of a refrigerator, and I think I may have seen an icicle hanging off someones nose in the casino!

I've never had a ship this cold in YEARS since they used to have the AC cranked in the Caribbean. Maybe they're trying to save gas on heat? Be warned.

The ship is as confused as my trees.  I am half way between San Diego and LA. Last week it was 85+ every day, today the high is 57.  Jan 10th we sail Navigator for 4 nights.

Most cruise ships aren’t set up for cold weather cruising.    We have sailed out of Baltimore in the winter and the trip down the Chesapeake and down the Atlantic cost was FRIGID.    Sweater and hoodie weather until we made it south of Florida.    Kinda to be expected.

Have they ever sailed this ship in Alaska? On our Alaska cruise we had plenty of heat, but it was on a different ship.

I was freezing on the Symphony 3 weeks ago - it was so bad that before the first theater show my husband went back to our cabin to get me a travel blanket and I pretty much turned myself into a burrito! It didn’t improve the rest of the week. But on the Allure the next week most of the ship was very hot. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I hear you.  We're in northern San Diego County, and you need a different wardrobe every day.  And my lemon tree is not a happy camper.  At all.

We were on the Navigator for the first 4 sailings. Yes, it was cold in our cabin. We noticed it the first day.  We set the thermostat as hot as it can go...didn't work...still cold.

My wife threatened me.

I called guest services and they immediately sent 2 gentlemen from housekeeping. They removed a panel up in the ceiling (not sure what they did) and open the thermostat.

We received a call from guest services who asked if the problem was fixed.

I told them my wife's happy...the room was toasty. Happy wife, happy life.

But I did get the last word: "Yes Dear"

We were on the first official sailing out of LA on Navigator and didn't experience any problems with the temperature in common areas or our room.  It was warmer when we went over Thanksgiving with lows in 50s and highs in the 60s.  Quite the opposite happened for our travel mates in the next door cabin.  Their room was warm even with the thermostat set to the coldest. They mentioned it to the steward and maintenance came in and fixed it right quick.  Our cabin thermostat was working great with no adjustments.
