Are they testing passengers or is it by request only?

He just said something to the tune of 600 passengers were tested and no positive results. We were at dinner, it was tough to hear. So if someone else on the cruise heard differently, please chime in. He did say that we would get one day of the cruise fare as obc. But the crew part I did hear clearly. The 53 were over the 1% threshold. That's why St Thomas has turned us away.

WHITSHEL, love the pictures, love the updates, and know you are having a blast!! Please keep us informed and I truly appreciate your insight during these weird times.

I didn’t intend to “highjack” your thread and I look forward to hearing about the rest of your cruise.

No problem, like I said it was very hard to hear him plus the accent,  I distinctly heard 0 passengers tested positive.  Maybe the 600 was something else. Either way it's not the passengers that are making us miss the ports of call.

Also, He did say we would be transferring the sick crew to the Rhapsody of the Seas. Not sure if that's tomorrow at sea or when we're in the DR.

Izumi Tonight. We're not real big sushi eaters but this was really good.

California Roll

And no idea, but it was damn good roll. 😆

Since we had the UDP we got to choose 1 app (tempura shrimp) and 2 main courses.  Which is Any of the rolls, sashimi or the teriyaki bowls. Plus one dessert. And they brought out Miso soup as well.

The waiters have all been really good. We've been tipping $20 on top of the normal UDP gratuity.

On the Reflection right now, our captain said in an announcement this morning that we are the only ship allowed to dock today. If they knew they weren’t going to dock here in St Thomas it seems crazy for them to still bring the ship in and park it for a while.

Being that you’ll be able to dock, I understand that for St. Thomas, they evaluate ship-by-ship, and it’s not a blanket ban on all ships. Hope you have a nice day ashore!

Not sure about the only ship. Looks like Caribbean princess and the NCL Encore are already there.

Lunch was at Chops Grill today. Really really good. We figured since we have the UDP we may as well use it.  I know it says lunch on sea days is included, is that because most restaurants are closed on port days?

The wedge

We used our udp on Odyssey for lunches on Port day too. Playmakers opens at 2 generally so just had late lunch. I loved some of their drinks and the Buffalo rolls.

Haven't had the food there yet. Was there on Sunday and they literally had evey NFL game on at least 3 TV's, it was awesome!!  Plus the headliner game they had on the big screen across the seaplex.

Looks like you were transferring people or stuff to Rhapsody, have fun in Puerto Plata, we’ll be there the day after you.

I was wondering about the Reflection. I know they were scheduled with us for both St Thomas and San Juan. Wondering if you were switched to Puerta Plata as well. Sounds like it!!

Thank you for sharing your vacation with us. We will be on Odyssey at the end of January. Quick question regarding the placement of the closet in an oceanview balcony. Is it like the Oasis class, where there are two closets, one on each side of the sofa/loveseat? I sure hope so...

Yes, these seem bigger as well but maybe not. It's been about 3 years since we were on Oasis.
