Have you thought about using your level from A to B and then using your husband's to go from B to C?

It is not specifically banned!!

I think the rules state that only one upgrade can be used at a time.  Chaining of two upgrades probably would not be allowed.

this is my annoyance with the free dinner vouchers per stateroom. If a single person has earned their right to have that free dinner  but decides to travel with a friend or family member whom has also earned their status and the free dinner perk, that means they would have to share the voucher. these people may have different eating hours, one may want to eat early, the other may want to eat late, it just wont matter, they have to eat at the same time because the vouchers are per stateroom. I find it disrespectful and rude. IMHO.

Interesting statement in the T&Cs for the changed Rewards

However, guests can book excursions once on board. Each guest on the reservation must identify themselves as a Latitudes Rewards member and present their keycard in person to shore excursion staff at time of booking to receive the discount. The discount must be commensurate with each individual guests Latitudes Rewards tier level.

As the Reward is ONLY available to the FIRST NAMED passenger on the booking why does anyone else have to provide a Latitudes number?

The Free at Sea $50 Shore excursion credit only applies to the first passenger on the booking.  The Latitudes shore excursion credit applies to each latitude member passenger.

A couple points from the Latitudes Rewards Program FAQ

Are the Shore Excursion discounts for everyone on the reservation given to the guest in the stateroom with the highest tier?

No. The amount of the Shore Excursion discount is determined by the Latitudes tier level of each guest: 10% for Silver, Gold and Platinum members, 15% for Sapphire and Diamond members, and 20% for Ambassador members. Each person in a stateroom must present their keycard to receive the discount commensurate with their tier level.

Is the Shore Excursion discount combinable with the Shore Excursion credit from Norwegian’s Free at Sea offer?

Yes. The discount is combinable with the Free at Sea promotion. It is not combinable with any other promotion or discount. If a Free at Sea shore excursion credit is on the reservation, the Free at Sea credit is to be taken off the total bill first and then the Latitudes shore excursion discount is applied.

Could it be that you are mixing the Latitudes discount with the $50 promotional shore excursion perk?

The only part of this that I don't like is that the Shorex credit is deducted first. The credit is a type of payment and discounts should always be applied before payments!

From the FAQ's

I am a Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond or Ambassador. How do I contact the dedicated pre-cruise service desk?

Please call 866-625-6086

What about all those who can't use USA Free-calling numbers?

Has someone tried it?   What does it give you

I tried the number but unfortunately that department was closed at 7:30PM eastern.  I'll try again tomorrow morning. I'm wondering what they can do that my PCC can't.  Will post back when I find some info.

Take care, happytotravel (anywhere at this point!)  I do have a cruise booked for Sept. 06.

Yup I've always had a problem with this too. My traveled with my parents in a suite and all 4 of us are/were platinum but we only got 2 dinners total. It was ridiculous.

THIS.

if you offer double and triple points over an extended time, then you have to devalue the points or your program is saturated with elites. it's a classic loyalty program scam.

Back in the day they used to offer double/triple/quadruple on an everyday basis

1 point for each day

1 extra point per day for booking the Latitude Inside Offer

1 extra point per day for booking 9 months or more in advance

1 extra point per day for booking suites

I was regularly getting 21-28 points a cruise.

Here is the wording from NCL Latitudes Rewards  FAQ & Terms (last updated Jan 7, 2022)

One-Time Free Cabin Upgrade – Diamond

Diamond members will be offered a one-time complimentary cabin upgrade once they have reached the Diamond tier. The cabin upgrade is valid for one category increase from the category that the guest booked. The Latitudes member must first make their booking, then call to redeem their complimentary cabin upgrade. The cabin upgrade is not eligible for Suites or Haven. The highest cabin category that a member may be upgraded to is Club Balcony. Eligible members will have one (1) year to take the complimentary cabin upgrade after graduating to the Diamond tier.

The complimentary cabin upgrade may only be redeemed once for each member. There are no destination restrictions but holiday sailings are excluded. All upgrades are subject to availability. This benefit is not combinable with other cabin upgrade promotions or offers. Taxes and fees are not included. Complimentary cabin upgrades are non-transferable.

Terms and conditions are subject to change and inventory is subject to availability.

I wonder if this can be used with  a cruise you get from a land-based casino?

Also wonder, is it as simple as Balcony to Club Suite?   Or is it Category BB to Category BA?

The Balcony cruise we get from CET is usually for a BA, so would this upgrade get us to a B6/B9 or to a MA?

My reading of the T&Cs is that it is NOT a category change but an actual cabin type change; Inside to Ocean View or Ocean View to a Balcony etc.

Most likely you are right.

But wouldn't it be great if they upgrade your regular Balcony it to Large Balcony or even Spa Balcony?  It's just a one time upgrade so why not make it extra nice😉

This situation is covered and you should have received 4 meals for two. If you are ever in this position again then go to the cruisenext desk and request your additional vouchers.

Spanishguy has a very specific situation where he and the person he shares with want to eat separately so can’t make use of the “meal for two” vouchers. Under the old rules where each person got one meal for two they were allowed to split them to make them two meals for one. That changed back in 2017 (I assume because it would now allow a solo traveller to convert to 4 meals for 1).

Whilst I can see why this is an issue for him, I don’t believe that his situation is particularly common and changing back to one meal per person would penalise a lot of people (I.e. solo travellers and couples with just one platinum) so I don’t agree that the solution is to go back to that.

Maybe start allowing people to split their meals again, or at least be a little more flexible about this. Ultimately though it is impossible for a set of rules to cover every single eventuality and preference and it looks as though they will just have to live with it for longer I’m afraid.

If anyone is still struggling to find details of the new benefits and the FAQ’s etc then I would suggest googling “NCL latitudes” rather than clicking on links via their account. That takes me to a page which has all the details.

I’m not sure whether this link will work as it is for the mobile version, and also on the UK site. It may redirect to the US site but if it doesn’t work then just Google.

As I live in Europe and my PCC at NCL is based in the US (have had the same PCC since 2008, so from before they divided NCL customers in to different markets with different webpages) and all my cruise reservations is done through her, she "puts them in to the system" after receiving an e-mail from me.

With the new Latitudes program, my husband and I have the Diamond status and are therefore eligible for one cabin upgrade each. I would like this upgrade to be added to our two cruises that are already booked for July and August 2022, and the FAQs states that I would have to first make the reservation and then CALL ot get the upgrade.

Well, calling from Europe to the US from a cellphone and with a very high risk to be put on hold for a long time may very well cost a small fortune. So I just sent an e-mail to my PCC to see if she can assist me in this or forward my e-mail to someone who can.

Will probably receive a reply from her later today, as she usually replies to e-mails very quickly. Will be exicting to see the final outcome of these upgrades... 😊

I think that is what they mean by cabin category. In the FAQ’s one of the questions is what cabin categories are included and the answer says not suites and that the highest category you can upgrade to is Club Suite. I take that to mean that you can upgrade from Inside to Oceanview, Oceanview to Balcony, Balcony to Club Suite.

The question I have is whether you have any say which type of room within that category. If you just get upgraded to three cheapest type of balcony then you may as well book the cheapest Oceanview. But as someone who likes to select my room, would I want that anyway?

If I do get to use my upgrade then I will asking quite a few questions in advance of booking.

I’ve also sent my PCC (from the US as well) a few questions so will report back if I find anything. I am hoping that they will be able to do the whole thing for us.

I don't know if you know this but you can use SKYPE to call US Toll Free numbers.   I presume that that is worldwide.   I can do it from New Zealand and use it to call NCL addresses and by bank headquarters and my credit card company.

Yeah, it isn’t really a problem for me to phone the US, it’s just I’d rather let me PCC know what I’m planning (we would be booking and then immediately upgrading) and leave them to do it, rather than spend ages on the phone.

The first question I will need an answer to is whether the 1 year expiry is for booking or sailing. If it is sailing then it is most likely irrelevant for me anyway.

I know, but I do not want to use Skype on my phone when calling.....
