Is SIP and COVER the rule for Princess?

Actually all sitting in Vista lounge. In my 40 plus cruises on Princess have not seen any with people standing in any number..

 

Probably more like 10% uncovered and drinking at any particular time. Everyone was covering up quite promptly after the reminder by the officer.

I made a lanyard for our masks so they can either hang in the front or flip to side or back while eating.  No putting on the table (don't put any personal item on the table while we are eating) or shoving in your pocket.

The program has been pretty much the same for years 

 

the doors open and everyone enters going past the officers.

 

They are guided to seats where drinks are served.

 

After about 10 minutes with music playing, the presentations start.

 

Then it is all short presentation by the captains circle hostess, the future cruise consultant, the captain, then the most traveled recognition, and the drawings for champaign then it ends.

 

Been about the same for the last 10 years or so.

Going back to 2009, our Captain Circle Part was just as you described.  The only standing and milling about while drinking was when there was a Captain's Welcome Aboard Party held on all the decks around the Atrium.

Not sure.  Our Enchanted next January is a 10 day Southern Caribbean...thought that's what they are doing now, but could be wrong.  I guess COVID knows though if you're doing a 7 day or 10 day so acts appropriately!!

No less time to spread on shorter cruises. Passenger's not tested on board unless doing b2b at end of cruise. So unless someone develops symptoms cases not found except among crew during their weekly tests.

 

Lower case counts and the ship lowers the level.

 

Main reason cruises were initially limited to shorter periods.

 

It all comes down to number of cases on board.

This is the first I have heard of levels, we were on the Regal for an 8 day cruise this month and the crew are not able to get off the ship in port. At least that is what we were told by our waiter. I assumed that was true regardless of length.

 

But we also didn't see this singing and dancing thing in Good Spirits. We sat there for before dinner drinks often. Masks were not being worn but everyone was drinking, most not sip and cover. But overall mask wearing was very good.

I was talking with our CD he mentioned that the crew could not get off in Hawaii because they were at level 2, but he was hoping that they could be at level one during the next cruise, a 10 day cruise to Mexico, so they could get off.

Just off the Enchanted on Saturday. It’s doing 10-dayers. Crew cannot get off the ship and sip & cover is in place. There are numerous reminders before entertainment starts and most everyone was self-policing. It’s honestly not that hard from my perspective. We aren’t usually out and about late nights so who knows what went on after people were quite a few in and feeling no pain. 🤷🏻‍♀️ In a case like the video you mentioned, it sounds like people could easily leave that situation (or move away) if they felt uncomfortable. Overall, I appreciate that people were really trying to comply in the spirit of common good.

Just got off the CB.  Sip and cover was not actively enforced.  Once most passengers sat in a bar and had their drink delivered the mask came off and stayed off until they got up to leave.  I estimate that about 5% of the passengers pulled their mask down, sipped, covered, and swallowed (rinse and repeat).

Enchanted Southern  Carribean is all 10 day, I believe.

I suspect most of their ships are similar in compliance. 

If people want to cover up after each sip then go right ahead and if it's upsetting to see others not doing likewise then perhaps they should drink elsewhere.

Just off the Regal, there were "Sip & Cover" signs posted at the entrance to a few certain venues such as Casino, Club 6, Princess Live, otherwise you could remove your mask as long as you were actively eating or drinking.  You weren't supposed to have a croissant on a plate in front of you for an hour so you didn't need to mask up.

Well there are some slow eaters and a few with many drinks ever since the plus package is now quite popular.
