tidecat Posted February 16, 2022 #77 Share Posted February 16, 2022 I'm scheduled to be on Horizon Saturday, have heard there will be about 3600 onboard, which is roughly 90% of double occupancy and just under 75% of maximum occupancy.

We are on as you get off. I was hoping there would be less than 75% occupancy. Freedom was at about 45% when we were on her a few weeks ago. We will definitely be spending a lot of time on our balcony!

You may still get that - I know there are a lot of school systems, especially in the northeast, that give off on the week of President's Day (i.e., this coming Monday). The week after you're on, though, should capture the first of the spring break crowds.

We have a great balcony (Havana aft wrap) so we should be ok. However, looking at the cabins still listed up for grabs on the CCL site, there aren't that many- less than 200- so number of passengers on the ship is going to be high. Boo. If Carnival doesn't act before then, won't be surprised if this group sets the standard for mask usage. Outside of spring break or a major holiday, 85% is a complete fluke IMO. Certainly not a fluke on the Mardi Gras. Just got off a B2B with 4700 for 2/5-2/12 and 5000 for 2/12-2/19. Come Easter, will be pushing 90%+ easily.

The newest ship in the fleet should command the most interest combined with the casino deals offered will result in the highest passenger count and percentage occupancy. true i was on the Mardi Gras 9-11-21 and even back then it was pretty full
Alegeeter Posted February 22, 2022 #90 Share Posted February 22, 2022 The Panorama last week had 3200, so 80% double occupancy 63% max. CD said when we debarked they had over 4000 (100% / 78%) on the 2/19 President's week sailing.
dreaming2012 Posted March 1, 2022 #91 Share Posted March 1, 2022 Any new updates on capacity? Specifically the Freedom we are sailing on her end of this month.
Rare sparks1093 Posted March 1, 2022 #92 Share Posted March 1, 2022 Just off Legend and we sailed at 110% capacity, 2413. It was vacation time in the northeast so there were many kids onboard (around 500).

I was not sure if Carnival has been in the same range or not. I know on our three (since restart) Carnival sailings they were a good 60-75%+, but that was pre-Omicron. Tom BTW, onboard now and we're at 890 guests (29%) No waiting on elevators. No issues getting seats, loungers, etc.
stevethepirate Posted March 1, 2022 #94 Share Posted March 1, 2022 I was on the Valor February 17th. The Cruise Director announced 2600+. Dining room said that they'll have more on the next cruise. So. Carnival's doing their best to fill the ships.

That's good from my "I own a chunk of CCL stock" perspective. 🙂 Oh - somewhat off topic, but are masks now fully optional on Carnival cruises? (we have one in 10 days) Tom The way I read it is that mask wearing is up to the wearer unless Carnival says different. Like at the comedy shows I hear they are still requiring sip and cover. I'm taking a mask in my pocket anywhere outside of my stateroom just in case...

dsfitz Posted March 1, 2022 #99 Share Posted March 1, 2022 There are 1727 passengers on the conquest on our current 4 night cruise with a nominal capacity of 2980 that's 58% it certainly feels pretty uncrowded that number came from guest services so I think it's accurate 1
DrSea Posted March 1, 2022 #100 Share Posted March 1, 2022 I was on the Radiance on Feb 25th. I was told they were ~30% capacity. Don't know exact numbers or if this is true. We had only one show per day. The pool deck was empty. Ship was empty and really nice.
