B2B and luggage

Hi !

I have searched and read a few threads about how disembarkation and re-embarkation (is that a word??) works on the second leg of a B2B.

It sounds pretty straightforward.

However, I have not seen any information on how luggage is handled if you are changing cabins on the second leg.

Thanks for your comments !

Your cabin steward will help you with this.  Clothes on hangers are put on a rolling rack and taken over to the new cabin.  All other items can be placed in your suitcase and the steward will move them for you. I place any valuables in a small carry-on and take those items with me.

The process works better if the cabins are close to each other.  The last time I had to change cabins, the rooms were right next to each other.  I was able to access the safe, and everything was already moved, prior to disembarkation and re-boarding the ship.

Has anybody that has done a B2B since October 2021 let me know when they are doing the test?  We did a B2B on the Grand back in Sept / Oct but we weren't tested until day two of the 2nd leg of the trip.  I'm sure they were just trying to get the processes in place at that time.

On the website, it says you are retested in the terminal but have heard others say they were retested on the ship.  We are doing a B2B in April and even though we are staying in the same cabin for both legs of the sailing, I was wondering if we would need to pack up our belongings in between sailings in the case we weren't allowed to reboard.

We have had to do this twice. Talked to both stewards to arrange a schedule, and then just moved all our stuff over without their help.

Turnover day is a busy day for them, and it was super easy for us to just throw things in our luggage and then unpack. They were both extremely accommodating.

Well, y not book the same cabin for all b2s’s….no moving. no hassle

Because if you decide to book the second leg after the first, and the cabin isn't available.

Another reason, getting upgraded on one of the legs and not the other.

Tips. Place as many items on hangers as possible. The staff will move the items on the hangers and hang them in your new cabin. Small items can be placed into a suitcase for moving. Talk to your new cabin steward, you may be able to wheel the suitcase over in the morning. Carry any safe items, or ask your new cabin steward if you can place them in your new cabin safe in the morning, of course after the previous people have left around 8 to 9.

At the end of January on the Enchanted we were tested on the turn around day in the AM on the ship. I did personally see people pulled from the terminal as we were waiting to reboard and brought back on the ship. I  later saw them being escorted with their luggage off the ship (by crew in hazmat suits)

Well, if they let us back into our room to pack up if we tested positive, that’s a good thing .  I can’t imagine they would want to handle all our stuff if we were had cooties.  😉
Thank you for that answer.  I feel better about that now.

I'd go find Stewart for the new cabin before end of first leg and let them know you are moving in on turnaround day and they can often work it so your new cabin is ready early - ahead of the rest of their allotment.

That's provided that the people in that cabin leave on schedule. We've changed cabins when they overstayed their allotted time & had to go to the walk off leaving our things in the first cabin and wait for the cabin steward to clean up.

Yes, that is exactly the reason.  Second leg booked after first, and the same cabin is not available.
