debnjoe1438 Posted March 6, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2022 Does Carnival allow cork screws to be brought on to the ship with the bottle of wine? If I were to pay the 15 dollar corkage fee, would the dinning room store/keep the wine for me? Thanks
halterk Posted March 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2022 I have packed a cork screw in my carry on before and had no issues.

Scubadoobie2 Posted March 6, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2022 When you say you have had no problem with the corkscrew you had in your carry-on, was it the kind they call the "waiter's corkscrew" that has, in addition to the corkscrew, a small blade used for cutting the foil? firefly333 Posted March 6, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2022 Worse comes to worse, I wound up calling room service who brought me a little corkscrew. I tipped the guy and said thanks. And got him to open the bottle. I was told the bar tenders cant, only room service .. or in Mdr. And I asked several bar tenders, all said sorry no call room service. ddavis5us Posted March 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2022 We used to travel with one of the door hanger items that had pockets. Where we would have 40 or so items in "pockets" what would hang from from the closet door. Have moved to a Bass Pro Shop type tackle box that has baggie type sleeves in a book form. Have over 40 cruises and with either way, have always carried a corkscrew. Have also carried a short bladed knife (2 inches or so). Never questioned. staceyglow Posted March 6, 2022 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2022 We got this corkscrew from a cabin steward on a prior cruise. We have brought it on board many times since without a problem.
Bgcruising Posted March 6, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2022 You can take one, not an issue. You will find it in their faq.

Purvis1231 Posted March 7, 2022 #12 Share Posted March 7, 2022 Room service will open your wine but the corkage fee is a reasonable charge to be able to enjoy the wine with your meal. They do store it for you and serve it at the next meal for no additional fee. 1
joelheather Posted March 7, 2022 #13 Share Posted March 7, 2022 Just bring a long wooden spoon along with your wine. Use the handle of the spoon to push the cork into the bottle. Simple old bar trick…. Bring an old cork with you to seal the bottle back up.
diesel1973 Posted March 7, 2022 #14 Share Posted March 7, 2022 Just had the type with the small knife on it confiscated by TSA at the Sarasota airport that was in my carry-on.
maluhia87 Posted March 7, 2022 #15 Share Posted March 7, 2022 I travel with a TSA approved corkscrew, that has wheels to cut the foil instead of a knife. Been my preferred for years and never had issues.
lennythenose Posted March 7, 2022 #16 Share Posted March 7, 2022 Mine with the foil cutter was confiscated in Galveston in October.

I figured mine would make it to the departure port because I would put it in my checked luggage. But, I feared that security at Carnival's terminal would seize it. So, I have ordered the kind of opener that has the wheels to cut the foil. Should arrive in a day or two. It will come in handy for future cruises.
