Probably masks will need to be worn while moving around the inside public areas of the ship, in theatres, and for things like trivia and bingo.

It looks like just embarking and disembarking ?
I hope we don’t have to get a expensive PCR test .

Singapore had a central RAT at the town hall convention centre while on the way to the terminal. By the time you got to the ship it was processed and was included in the fare.

I'll be surprised if the cruise lines don't require masks to be worn inside the ship, at least for the first six months or so but it may depend on the cruise line.

P&O, Princess, and possibly Carnival, will be the test cases for safe Covid cruising in our region so they won't be taking any chances.

The various cruise lines will require masks on board, unless you are in your cabin or actually eating and drinking in public areas. PCR tests - $200 - user pay? will be required. It will not be open slather Chili.

Some ships overseas don't require masks to be worn inside anymore, only embarking and disembarking on some, see what happens as it gets closer.

I think they are dropping masks onboard overseas .

Singapore has just gone to a RAT on the day and you pay .

I suspect it will be an ever moving set of rules depending on the line and the situation  on board 2 or 3 days into the cruise.

Mic ,I m curious why RC have pulled Radiance out of Australia for this coming season.

Do you think they can see the writing on the wall?

I think they needed to deploy it somewhere so it could make some money, and they were sick of being stuffed around by the cruise ban here with no solid date to work to.

Like they will send larger ships when they do.

They have probably come to the conclusion that our governments can’t be relied on.

All we need to do is understand that.LOL

I really love the way people can be so certain about what is gong to happen...

Nobody knows what protocols will be in place, either when the first cruise leaves or at any time after that.

Between now and 31 May, everything could change, so unless you have a crystal ball, you're just guessing.

No Radiance was redeployed to New Orleans, not Memphis .

Radiance has now left the building.

Perhaps …but will be replaced with something else. Radiance has been in Australia for ten years  so maybe  RCG  saw this as a good opportunity to bring something different here……….or it could be getting ready for the 2023 “winter season”

Not enough butts on seats. P&O have delayed two ships, Princess has withdrawn one and now RC. If they could fill them, they would be sending them.

Even with Royal Princess cancelled and cruisers moving over to similar Majestic itineraries, there is still heaps of availability. I know plenty of seasoned cruisers that aren't ready to book anything yet. Maybe that will change after 31st May when ships are leaving with passengers.

I got word over the weekend and I callEd my agent. She said ,that she just got of a web meeting with Royal Caribbean.

Radiance will not be replaced and is to be redeployed during our season in the big easy.

I think they can see the writing on the wall and said let’s get out of here and try to get some bookings in Nawl Eens.

Apparently they are doing Casino cruises out of New Orleans

And possibly restrictions by the government on the number of ships each cruise line can bring here over the next year.

It's hard to tell how popular cruising will be in the 22/23 season. Certainly the big cruises on Princess - Round Australia & Hawaii/Tahiti are heavily booked but people might just be waiting to see whether cruising will go ahead before booking. I just booked an Auckland to Sydney cruise on Majestic in January and quite a few of the best cabin locations were guarantee only.

Maybe the smaller ships don’t have the medical facilities.

Maybe the smaller RCL ships don't, but Coral Princess is one of the smallest left in the Princess fleet (2000 pax), and the P&O ship isn't that much bigger (about 2600 pax).

It will be interesting to see which ship RCL brings over instead of Radiance, and also if any of the other cruise lines change their deployments.

My agent was told in a webinar with RCG today that Radiance won’t be replaced.

I don’t what the reason was but I suppose dealing with our government is going to be difficult.

Radiance can slip through the Panama for more certain markets where the big ship can’t.

New wider locks were opened in the Panama Canal a few years ago. They can accommodate the larger ships.
