I am really annoyed that these luxury brands don’t make more things for men like wallets etc.  I’m in Rome and I wouldn’t mind spending a little money.

A lot of the luxury brands sell mens products.  Have you looked?

I was on The Millennium in March and visited the "What Goes Around" preloved boutique. The signage was very clear that this segment of the shops sold used merchandise. The LV bags looked quite new to me. The shop manager informed me that they were very lightly used, mostly for a single photo shoot or runway show. They had a beautiful Speedy model that I was very tempted to purchase but refrained, much to the relief of my husband. LOL! Here in Canada preloved designer bag pop-up shops happen quite often in our department stores. My two cents? The bags I saw on the ship were around the same price as what I could by used on land but in better condition. Of course, YMMV depending on the ship, inventory, etc. Happy cruising and shopping! 🙂

Every ship will tell you a different story about the pre owned LV bags.

My DW bought a Hermes scarf  that she liked using non refundable OBC. If you lose it unless you use it, it's a fair price.  The transaction was completely honest.

You can cash out that OBC in the casino.  Most ships just use a slot machine and charge the amount to your room, it offsets the OBC.  Then just cash out the ticket.  Worst cash you can do it at the casino cashier and pay a small fee.

They disclose that information to you when you ask. ALL of the watches they sell are old, preowned models, and the "papers" they come with are a COA from the watch company, not from Rolex.

If she ever tries to pawn/sell that "memory" there'll be a rude awakening. But for him, it might have been a good investment. 😉

At least Norwegian now has a notice explaining the service is not with Rolex. I noticed this on my recent cruise on The Star. I feel this is more honest. It used to bug me before that people didn’t know what they were buying. 3EA8B708-556F-44B4-A77D-18214AFE62BF.thumb.jpeg.2b6459ab6dcd0eb7f7e5dab58563bc1c.jpeg

Not sure if X has a disclaimer or not yet in the pic above it's also not exactly clear.  The problem with these are since Rolex doesn't provide a warranty, the watch's resale value goes down significantly; additionally, in some cases there isn't demand for these either.

An apples to apples comparison, this is like buying an used car but you end up unexpectedly buying a previously salvaged and now repaired car

I couldn’t agree more. I can’t bear to look at them! The thought someone could buy one not knowing they can never get it serviced by Rolex or an accredited watchmaker makes me sick! I have to say though, I have never seen the written disclaimer before so that is some improvement. At least someone may notice before they buy!

I cash out my non refundable OBC at the casino slots all the time. Sometimes lose a few cents but mostly win a few bucks.

if you don't want the used stuff, BEYOND had a small men's shop on the  corridor going to  EDEN..small selection, big prices.  We browsed for wallets but thought the mark up was too high.  Wonder if the shop will survive?

Did you happen to see the prices at the chocolate shop across from the mens store?

I kinda wonder what happens to the millions of luxury goods stolen during mass shoplifting mobs we have been experiencing... so with that in mind.. I wonder the source of these items.. as well as the source for those websites selling preowned items....

If purchasing "used" items, might we unknowingly be participating in theft rings?  I wonder where these companies get this volume of used luxury items that some report look like new.

The lady at the onboard shop on the Apex said the LV bags were brand new and came from LV's warehouse. Older styles but beautiful bags. There were 4 different styles only one sold on my 15 night TA.  Ranged in price from $2100 to $2400.  Last fall on the Equinox there were 2 bags in the shop.

I doubt that. Louis Vuitton is pretty vocal about not discounting their bags or selling them outside of LV boutiques.

Good evening,

I just purchased a pre owned Louis Vuitton on Regent Seven Seas Grandeur. Now that I am home and looking at it closer. It does not have a serial number which it should. Has anyone else purchased a pre used bag on a ship? Only to find out it wasn't real question mark?

I would be very surprised if the cruise lines sold them as authentic if they were not. Never actually purchased one but have looked at them closely although did not check for SN just markings on zippers, inconsistencies in stitching etc and they seemed fine to me but I wouldn't buy as still felt they were over priced. The lines are making a killing profit wise on these bags even at duty free prices.

The used handbags  take up alot of space in a shop that used to be nice..now looks like a shabby  flea market.  We do not buy used (bad fengshui)

I just got off a Princess cruise and they had pre owned Chanel cotton tote bags selling for thousands of dollars.  They were actually quite ugly and yes, taking up precious real estate.

If I sometimes lost a few cents at the casino but mostly won a few bucks, I’d be at the casino quite a bit paying for my cruise.

The shop that sells them was up to Jan owned and run by LVMH, so the items are authentic, LVMH just sold the retail part of the ships and hotels that had these shops to a company that already ran a bunch of these type of stores for LVMH. LVMH is one company that does not screw around with fakes, there reputation is everything.  We ended up picking up some very unique Hermes scarfs for a decent price.

Of course they are the real deal. Imagine the flack the lines would receive if it was revealed they were selling fake designer bags. I was on the Apex last year and kept looking at a beautiful LV bag. The girl at the store tried everything in her power to get me to buy it but I wouldn't get the use just not an every day type of bag.

I cashed out $100 of my NR OBC and got $98 which went into my wallet then next day tried to play and got locked out was told I had to play at least $40 in cash which I did but then won $180.
