Royal Caribbean - This is completely unfair!

From what I’m hearing, since the change to the Diamond drink benefit, no one hangs out in the Diamond Lounge anymore.

Not true. Been on the Wonder, Odyssey and the Allure since restart and they are usually full. Allure this week seems to have more people than the January and April cruises I did. They aren’t as full as pre-covid, but well utilized.

I think Voyager/Freedom class have the best ones. They are spacious feeling with tall windows for ocean views and high ceilings; does not feel confining. There is also an outdoor patio section. Next followed by the recently departed Majesty of the Seas, which just used a part of the Viking Crown Lounge, but another scenic, panoramic viewing spot.

It will really depend on the ship if you like it or not. You've earned that specialty coffee, so be sure to enjoy one.

We really like the lounge on the Allure. She hasn’t been amped so the lounge is still on deck 11 overlooking Central Park.

I sat in Captain Johnny's chair on Allure many years ago - no tip required!!

Lucky you! Love Captain Johnny!  You really know he is your Captain is if you are lucky enough to be onboard when he is in command. He is out and about often. Other's you will never recall as they just go through the motions and you will never see them. The noon update is about as personal many of them get.

It was a big factor booking another cruise on Allure. Diamond lounge has a great view without that purple slide. Hope they don't mess with Allure.

Hop down to Miami, stake out the corporate offices and when Micheal Bayley steps out to go to lunch slip him a fiver. Hey, 💲 talks!

And while you're at it slip him another fin to get the best seats in the house for Cats on your next cruise! 😻

ha ha this is the best answer to a silly thread.

Your lack of planning is not Royal's fault.  But at 79, as many people have said, you got 3 months to do ANY cruise. to make that hop.  You don't even have to go solo like I did.

In 2018, I found myself at 62 points...and a 9 night cruise from nearby Baltimore at a very good price.  It was 1050 WITH the solo supplment.  It was a interior gty.  I did it and even though I got the stinkeye from the wife (she couldn't go), she's happy now with the Diamond benefits.

And now. I'm sitting at 148.  With my next b2b that accumulates x2 points due to the promotion and 14 nights...and we get 176!! Boom.  almost exact, but not quite.  Planning 😄

Our Diamond Events were on Monarch. Desmond was the server. He was an acquired taste

Desmond always made Tyler an Oreo cookie shake when we arrived in the lounge. I also remember when it was free beer & wine and 20% off for cocktails. Times sure have changed. Although we're closing in on Pinnacle, I still love the Casino status so much better. 🙂

We’re sitting at 71 points right now and planning (hopefully) a 12 day arctic cruise next summer.

it is cheaper for us to do a jr suite on Grandeur for a cheap 5 night to get to Diamond than it is to get the drink package next summer.

We’re all about fiscal responsibility.

Even cheaper to get an inside solo.  😉

Please don’t encourage my husband. I took my mom on a cruise so I’m 6 points ahead of him. He’s already got eyes on a 3 day cruise by himself to catch up since I told him I wouldn’t share my Diamond status unless he behaves. 😂

Now that's not fair coz those of us that did actually sail only got 52 when they shortened it last minute.  🤔

Life isn't fair.

You didn't get a point for staying aboard the night in PC? Maybe that's why we got 56. We should have been B2B. Boarded the next day

LOL...Carnival.  Isn't that something that has clowns involved?  😉

Not trying to jab Carnival, I just don't think there's a lot of values added to their loyalty levels
