So how many staff are now opting to wear masks, please?

Maybe 25%. If you don’t like the idea of no masks, you wouldn’t like this cruise. The elevators have been mainly empty. The lounges have been able to spread out. So far I haven’t heard anyone getting sick.

I finally went to the theater at 9p to watch the comedian and it was packed. A lot of masks but definitely not everyone. Maybe 50/50 but it was hard to tell. We had to walk out because it was too full.

Earlier post, I stated atrium, I meant solarium. We were able to find 2 chaises after a couple left. Spent about 3 hours there enjoying the pool and tub. Great place to spend a very windy day. I know this is a novel idea but we left our spots to go have lunch. People were rushing to claim it.

People in our party went on the behind the scenes tour and loved it. They said it was well worth the price. They were told 1820 were on board.

We are enjoying trivia in the Sky Lounge during the day. There is a fun crowd every day.

Bermuda tomorrow. We are going to ferry to Hamilton as a festival is there on Wednesday’s. My DH would like fish and chips for lunch and I am sure it will be easy to find on Front street. I will let you know.

FYI- a new shop that sales high end designer purses, opened yesterday. The person working there stated that obc could be used there. They sale LV, Prada and Gucci.

Not many. In Luminae- 2 out of all that staff.

Up here on retreat deck, there was one staff despite us being in super breezy huge winds.
we’re headed to the indoor poo in a bit- I’ll see what they are doing regarding optional masks.

BTW in the Bayonne terminal, didn’t see any staff wearing masks…

Ok we never stayed at indoor pool- just walked thru. It was a sea of humanity. This is our 4th Summit Bermuda cruise- it’s never been so full of people. We went Up to sunset bar for drinks & pizza. Then took a nap before showering & dressing for dinner. We’ve got some sunburn today so we may wander into Hamilton tomorrow so we don’t enhance the burn. Dinner in Luminae was good. We went and got Cokes in Michaels Club before heading to the theatre for the 9 pm comedian. Although they were handing out masks at the door- I never saw a soul take one. Rare were the masks in the theatre. Since casino will be closed for next three days- I decided to burn some OBC. Walked out with all my money & won 151.00 The sanitizing wipes in casino & gym were barely moist. In the casino those dealing at the tables all wore masks. Staff working  where you cash out were not. I’m only sharing for those who were interested. I’ve had three full vaxx and have a booster & worked thru the pandemic… it was weird when our mask mandate ended a few months ago- but I’m used to not wearing one now…I’ve only worn one when on mass transit at home.
Rich the cruise director reminded us to take cruise card and photo government ID in Bermuda. He stated they are required to walk thru the terminal building (very quick to pass thru), bus, & ferry still require masks. Shops are owners preference.
Gotta sleep! Coffee will be here at 6. We always buy transportation passes when we leave Bermuda- “ for our next trip” the all day passes do not expire till punched  for the first time. When we get off the ship- we just get the day going, no standing in line for us to buy them.
Our daughter bought us Bermuda masks from the post office in Hamilton when she & her fiancé sailed on Norwegian Joy this spring. A VERY useful souvenir

nite all!

Where was this tour posted and how did you sign up for it?  We're going on our first Celebrity cruise next year  and would love a behind the scenes tour.

Still waiting on DH's.  I hope it comes through by tomorrow so we don't have to track it down.

Day 2: We had a good dinner in Cosmo yesterday. It was slow but we weren’t in a hurry.  Slept well with our 6 pillows. My DH asked for a body pillow and they gave us a cooling pillow and body pillow.  We are near the aft and there was a bit of vibration last night nothing that woke us up. I am a light sleeper anyway.

The chair hogs were in full force this morning. There was flamingo clips everywhere. I went to the gym at 630a this morning and passed clips on the front rows.

I wish I would have experience Celebrity before Covid. Or not in the summer. We just are not experiencing a different crowd then NCL. So far river cruising is still my favorite of any of the ocean lines we have been on.

Back to report: Wi-Fi on my phone has need horrible. iPad is better.

We are on deck 8 and once again I would say it is a good deck.

Martini bar ran out of TItos last night. Asked for Pearl instead and the bartender had never heard of Pearl. It’s in their display case for the bar. He laughed and said he can’t touch the display.

The pool area at 1030a is getting packed. People are not finding chairs.

There are a good number of kids. Well-behave and having a good time.

Now I can get my iPad to work, I will post better. Thank you to those on this cruise that took up my slack.

I’ve posted my solution to chair hogs on these boards several times over the years.

Why doesn’t the cruise line assign chair tags based on the amount of people staying in the cabin for that particular cruise.  If you are a party of 2, you receive 2 coded tags.

This won’t solve the problem of people coming out at the crack of dawn to select their seats, but it would alleviate a party (for example) of two from taking their two chairs and two extra for their belongings.

It was in the excursions. I know there are at least 2 days because another couple in our party signed up for the Saturday one while on the ship.

That was listed as something you could pre purchase - I believe it was listed under excursions. Suite guests were invited to a meet the cast of the production shows, our table mates at dinner went and enjoyed it. Since we skipped the show the other night, we “sat out” this experience.

our coffee and tea were delivered & we have to get moving- cause we’re almost in Bermuda!

Everything can be pre-purchased on the Celebrity website and possibly the app (I always use the website).  You begin at "Manage Trip" in upper right, you will need to create an account.  In this account you'll link your upcoming cruise if it doesn't automatically via your reservation #.  Once you can access your cruise via Check-In you can see your sailings specific Shore Excursions.

In your Cruise Planner under dining is the "Inside Access Tour".  Very informative!

Great Captain.   Hopefully he will still be aboard for the 8/7 cruise

We haven’t come across the Captain yet. Yesterday we ferried to Hamilton & shopped a bit- no beach Went to the Broadway revisited show. It was very pleasant. Just a handful wearing masks and I do mean hardly anyone. I’m sharing for the person who had asked.

we did have to wear thru the little Bermuda dockside building for all of 3 seconds to walk thru. Also on lower level of ferry- I did notice ppl walking thru to go upstairs didn’t put on the mask as required. We did.

We’ve docked at this wharf many times, this time the water is strikingly blue.

This is my favorite photo so far. Maybe I’m just so grateful to be here & my memory is skewed… 🙂

St.George today.

Could anyone tell me if they have any Karaoke sessions scheduled on this cruise? We will be sailing in November on a 5 day and hope they have at least a couple of sessions.  TIA

I don’t see anything on the app, I’ll check the dailies when we get back to our suite.

we ferried to St. George- the Carnival ship left earlu afternoon. We were going to repeat a long walk we have done from center of St George but around by Alexandria Bay battery and the long walk to Tobacco Bay. It’s a nice long walk… but hubbies knee was bothering him so we hopped in a bus shuttle for 7$ each to Clearwater Beach. We could have walked into Coopers Island but just plopped dow, swam, and relaxed. On ship hungry, but had to eat pizza cause I didn’t like what they had out, even the desserts.
