We  have over $900 in FCCs  which expire the end of this year , Because of many cruise cases of the virus & flight problems ,we can not cruise ,We are both 83 with undelying medical conditions

Is there any way to salvage the FCCS for the future ?

Do you have a CVP or a TA who could fight for you?  If you booked with Princess you need to call them or if you still can’t get help then a message to customer relations, etc.

Most have gotten NO!  But, I know some that they have allowed them into 2023.

Do you have a cruise to put a hold on in 2023?  If you do, maybe they could put it in that cruise?  Just a thought.

My experience:  If it's a bonus FCC, there is no flexibility on the expiration date.  We forfeited our son's bonus FCC and requested a refund of the FCC for the cruise fare portion we paid for him.  For my husband and I, I asked several times about extending the dates.  We wanted to do a February cruise because we will have already done two make up cruises this year.  They agreed to extend the date on the FCC for what we had paid but not the bonus.  So, our cruise leaves December 8 instead of February.

One thing you could do to eliminate riskier exposure, is to do a RT sailing out of San Diego, since you live nearby. Look at the Princess website by port.  We did a RT out of L.A. earlier this year and not having to deal with air cancellations, or sitting next to whoever and potentially whatever they have on the plane was a relief.

Let's remember that everything contagious, is still out there. Use good practices, which you are surely aware.

Truth be told, we felt safer onboard than we did going to the local grocery store. Everyone was vaccinated, tested x2 and wearing masks was required. Same can't be said for going out grocery shopping. We are seniors too. Hope you get to use your credits!

mtnesterz has a great idea, that's what we're doing to use up FCC, Diamond Princess, Nov 8 out of SD, 5 day CA Coastal.    We'll park the coach in Escondido

Most FCCs that were issued due to the pandemic were a combination of funds paid and bonus FCCs.

The FCCs from funds actually paid should be refundable if you have any of that kind, so at least you would be getting actual money paid back.

Bonus FCCs would not be refundable if not used, but they do not represent out-of-pocket spending.

Absolutely right, and a good way to look at the situation.

But for 2 of us, we have $1300 in use 'em or lose 'em FCC, so while we won't lose any money we've laid out, who wants to let that plus $800 in Casino free play go away...?

Totally understand.

But if you are unable to cruise this year, c'est la vie.

Yah, we're on the same page.  Just hoping the OP, who lives 30 miles from San Diego cruise port, could have a chance to use their FCC should they be unable to extend them, fingers crossed, Bob's your uncle, etc.
