First cruise to NZ - departs when??

According to the Press, NZ is finally open for Business. Wonder what/when the first cruise from Oz to NZ will be?? - Will be observing it (and the next few after that ) closely. Will also be watching the Air arrivals into NZ and their subsequent impact - not sure how to follow that except maybe just the Press. ?

we have Feb 2023 booked from melbourne along with a small group of friends (9 cabins in all) so watching with interest. A few of our friends are first time cruisers so keenly watching.

Pacific Explorer departing Sydney 8th August, into Auckland on 12th August, and onto two ports in Fiji.

When are the first around NZ cruises then across to Australia?

Traditionally, ships departing Australia don't do NZ until November. P&O is 8th November,  Carnival 21st November, October 31st for Princess.

 

Some have port calls on their Transpacific's from October on.

Thanks.  So transpacific cruises should be the first around NZ cruises in 2022.

They may only stop at Auckland and possibly the Bay of Islands. I doubt they will be full NZ cruises that early.

The first cruise ship to dock in Auckland will be the Pacific Explore (12 Aug 22) and then Majestic Princess (16 Oct 22) will be the first cruise ship to dock in Auckland / New Zealand from the USA.

The first cruise ship to go around New Zealand from Australia will be the Celebrity Eclipse (18 Oct 22), then Ovation Of The Seas (24 Oct 22) then Grand Princess (25 Oct 22).

Majestic Princess will be the first ships that goes from the USA to New Zealand and then to Australia.

Thank you.  It will be lovely to see ships in Sydney Harbour again when I'm visiting Sydney.

Thanks for that link. Pleased that it seems like reasonable requirements. We cruise to NZ in early November.
