Bo ---   They did have a Vegan and Vegetarian option not on the menu but no takers.

You are the expert on these things.    I saw a post earlier today someone asking about Gluten Free Options in Luminae.   I don't recall you being Gluten Free but you have to be the expert on Vegan options.

LOL, not gluten free...

Well, will have to get you up to speed on vegan options to request... possibly!!!

bon appetit and bon voyage, Buddy

Really weird out now.    The sun is out above but we are in a heavy ground fog.  Temperatures are relatively warm and you can look up and see the sun like a big halo.

Fog Horns Blowing as I guess we are below minimums.

Chicken Liver Parfait

OMG, we had that on night 7 on the Eclipse in June. I think it was the best thing we had all week. If they had served it earlier in the cruise I would have requested it every other day.

I love when the fog horns are blowing, so haunting!  I especially love them at night, coupled with the ship if it's swaying, love it, puts me right to sleep.

How does one go about ordering vegan items?  Often times, I don't care for the seafood/chicken options and I'd rather eat something vegan.   We're cruising next month in a suite on Reflection.

c - there are two (2) ways to do it:

1) ask for the vegetarian menu the night before (many of the items can be made vegan); or

2) if you have a vegan dish you want, let the maitre d' know the night before.

For option 2, make sure it is something that is mainstream for the most part, as I asked for some 'different' on my last sailing on The Summit and after getting them I realized that what I wanted and what they could prepare were vastly different but worth the laugh regardless.

I generally let the kitchen know that they can prepare whatever they choose each night for me, just as long as it is never the same dish within three (3) nights.. generally that worked out well, too.

They will also make the effort to prepare desserts too....

Have any questions, please let me know...

@Jim_Iain Thanks for showing all the diversity(aka rainbow things) in Canada.  My first marriage was in 2003 to a Canadian woman( and I lived in Ontario).  Canada was way ahead of the US  in that respect.

One of my favorite showing of Pride was in Malta  they have a huge crosswalk painted painted in the colors of the Rainbow.    We have been together for 32 years and been Domestic Partners, Married and Revoked,  Married when California Legalized and then Grandfathered when struck down.   We  selected the date that we chosen to live together as our Anniversary and had a Celebration of Union in Mendocino, CA.

Even though we had been together many years when we got married in San Francisco City Hall I never imagined how emotional it was and how I finally felt whole.     I had to skip down the Harvey Milk Stairway (that's what I call it from the movie).

And the us is getting scary again!

Unfortunately true but in California we have a vote to add it to the State Constitution.   But that vote also invalidate our first marriage.

Thanks Bo.    Would be interesting to see you post your favorite Vegan Menu.  I had to cook a Vegan Meal for a guest one night and I really had to do some research to make sure it was not only fully Vegan but Tasty and Visually attractive.

Would love to open my mind to dinner choices.

Jim - when cooking at home I suggest that in order to keep all courses 'similar' for example pasta dishes with non-egg pasta and vegetable based red sauce.

If you prepare a baked fish dish, press some tofu and bake it in a similar vegan sauce...

All in all, do use a lot of salt as opposed to using more of other types of seasonings in the dishes for flavour.

Stir fries where you can do the base fry and add any meats or seafood just before serving....

Just a quick sampling of serving ideas...

At any rate, enjoy your sailing gents and I look forward to more postings and musings from you...

Margaret from South Africa is definitely the Captains Club hostess.

You are correct.   I just noticed that Bianca was Customer Service Director when she held Trivia in the Retreat right now.

It was funny last night.   I looked at the App and when asked if we wanted desert I said Iain would have the Chocolate Bar with Caramelized Banana... He looked at me strange and said that's not on the menu.   Evidently the app was different than the desert menu.   The app was probably for the regular last  nigh Chic night as it also had Baked Alaska.   I noticed this morning it was gone from them app.
