Taking beer back to cabin?

Thanks.  I don’t think I can drink 2 bottles of wine on day 1.  I had planned to take a glass with me every night for dinner.  Maybe I should just bring the bottle and let them store it?  The corkage fee , if charged, won’t break the bank 🤷‍♀️

I have stored wine in fridge on older ships and was always cold enough.

On Ovation two weeks ago, any water or beer we put in our fridge was frozen solid by morning lol. We ended up starting to leave the fridge door slightly ajar to try and keep it from freezing everything solid.

I agree with that.  We were on the Ovation 4 weeks last year and had the same experience.

I agree.  Make sure that they will actually keep your beer cold and not lukewarm.  The newer ships are no problem, but the older ones don’t work.

then just fill the ice bucket and put them there

Is it ok to ask for an unopened bottle of beer at the bar to take back to your cabin to drink later?

Yes and it’s not necessary to keep it cold. Bring the unopened bottle to any bar and exchange for a cold one. That’s what our friends have done….

That works, but it defeats the purpose of having a beer in your room when you want one.  🙂

Our stateroom attendants usually will refresh the ice and last one even took my warm standby beers and added them to the ice bucket for me, since I forgot! Always had a cold beer waiting in the room!

Indy last month was the first "fridge" I've had that was virtually useless... and it wasn't just that we got a broken one b/c it was a B2B and we switched cabins... both were the same.

How chilled is a matter of type of wine or beer.  Champagne and most white wines need to be chilled to low-mid 40s.  Reds can do ok in upper 50s or even low 60s for heartier reds and can be chilled a bit in an ice bucket for 15 minutes.  Beer really need that mid 50s temp to be at it's best.

But back  OP's question. Yes you can bring beer back.  Great to relax on balcony and enjoy the sea views.
