Catholic Mass on Princess?

It has been years since Princess had a priest on board to offer daily Mass.  Even on a Christmas or Easter cruise, there is no priest.  For Christmas, there are usually Christmas carols in the Piazza.

For these special Holy Days, the cruise director might lead some non-Mass non-denominational services, and the crew puts together a choir.  The Filipino crew members do an amazing job!  We have attended these services a couple of times, and we then attend Mass at the next port of call.

As Baystate notes, if there is a priest as a passenger, he might decide to officiate over a Mass.  Probably Sunday only, not daily.

Thank you, everyone. I read about HAL but didn’t find anything about Princess.

Before covid, coming back from Hawaii on Princess, we had a priest from a parish in Sacramento onboard but we didn’t find out about it until we were 5 or so days from home. So…

Thanks again!

Only if a priest happens to be on board as a passenger. This has been the Princess policy for at least a decade. From the FAQ's

We respect our guests' religious beliefs and invite them to practice on their own or with their fellow guests. Guests who wish to lead religious services may volunteer by contacting Guest Services or a member of the Cruise Staff. In some cases, our shipboard staff will lead services. However, Princess does not place clergy on board our vessels.

Clergy traveling as Guests onboard our vessels are welcome to conduct services while sailing. They should leave their name, cabin number, and services offered at Guest Services and they will be contacted by a member of the Cruise Director's Staff. Approval of services will be made based on schedule suitability, appropriate onboard supplies, etc. Please bring your Letter of Celebret or Letter of Good Standing with you to provide to the onboard staff.

Please note that during Passover, there will be a Seder service (including Passover meal) held onboard. For Hanukkah, services are available and will be guest-led with wine, Challah bread, prayers and an electric Menorah (no candles or live flames) provided by Princess. Supplies are present and available for anyone who wants to lead the service at 5:30 PM on Friday evenings.

If you would like to bring on your own Menorah, you may. However, since candles are prohibited onboard all Princess ships, it must be electric (no live flame).

I was on Enchanted at Easter this past year and there was a retired Protestant minister aboard who did a Good Friday service and an Easter morning service.  Both were fairly bare bones and very non-denominational.  There was a good crowd in the main theatre for the Easter morning service and the pianist from the house band played some hymns.  The minister gave a brief sermon and there were some Scripture readings appropriate to Easter.  The whole thing was a bit underwhelming, unfortunately.

We travelled as a large group many years ago and one of the people in our group was a catholic priest.  He was awesome.

We held our own mass in a private room and most were in bathing suits and the mass was 20 minutes.

Funny part was passers by started getting wind of what was going on and joined in on the mass

I've only seen non-denominational Sunday services.  On two of our cruises, they were conducted by the Cruise Director (one was an ordained minister, the other was not.)

There is usually also a morning bible-study group and these are often led by retired clergy.  On a Hawaiian cruise about 4 years ago the bible study was led by a gentleman who had been active in our church and then went on to become an ordained minister in another state before retiring.

My suggestion would be to ask Guest Services if there is a Catholic priest on board your cruise.

On our last cruise,  I found out only after a fellow cruiser told me that there was a priest on our

cruise and saying daily Mass.  Don't count on the daily newsletter to indicate it.
