Just wondering if the up charge was worth it? Do you get preferred seating in the dinning room?

No preferred seating.  You’ll decide if it is worth it to you, come back and let us know as this question gets asked frequently.

Shouldn't that question be asked before you book? No, you don't get preferred seating in the MDR. Whether Concierge is worth the price you are paying may depend on the value you place on the perks associated with it (they are listed on the website), and how much extra you paid over the cost of a standard balcony.

We dont do Concierge if there is a big difference over standard. But when we have, we like the better location and (on M class ships) the larger cabin. Most of the other perks are minor, but they're better than a poke in the eye.

Used Concierge and enjoyed it when it wasn't much more than a standard veranda. If you are on an M-Class ship, it is a bit larger than the standard verandas.

Beside being a bit larger on M-class, the location is better than Aqua, IMHO.

Its worth it if you are trying to get to Elite plus as you get 5 points per night.

As others have said only you know the actual costs and the perceived blaue.

Many value the welcome lunch in the MDR for the peace, the welcome and the first meeting of fellow guests.

Other extras like the daily canapees were valued by some and ignored by others.

I enjoy the welcome lunch plus the 50 CC points  Not fussed on the canapés.  The upgraded pillow menu is also nice.

For me it was a great deal cost me another $100 canadian to upgrade from an obstructed balcony on six to a C1 on the wake.

That wasn't the question though. OP asked if CC is worth it and the extras for that cabin class (Embarkation lunch, daily cabin snacks, golden plastic card) aren't worth anything unless you need the points. I don't even know why CC exists under these conditions to be honest.

I 'd  never book an obstructed cabin anywhere on the ship so an upgrade being a good deal due to that wouldn't even come into play. I do upgrade my casino comps to Aqua Class whenever possible as it's just $20/day extra and well worth it for BLU and the PG/Spa Area. I like the steam room very much.

I usually book concierge class on Solstice class (Equinox) because I like the cabin locations available.  That is really the only reason, although daily snacks, and a cheap bottle of bubbly to enjoy as we sail away the first day is a plus.  I don’t like cabin locations for aqua, and don’t think Blu is worth it.  I would rather save the money I invested in being able to eat in Blu and invest it in Specialty dining.

We "moved up" to a CC on the Infinity in July because we wanted to try it and because we got such a great deal on the cruise.  So even with the upgrade... it was a steal.  I would never do it again... lol.  I would save the $100 and hit the casino!

The welcome lunch was not spectacular at all... it was not relaxing for us as we were seated at a two top table next to two other two toppers so really we were a table for six and one man (notice I didn't say gentle-man) made such a huge scene when they offered him something to "drink" when he jumped up all 3 tables shook! Yelling "I don't drink" in the face of the poor waiter was really uncalled for because actually sir... you do drink... you may not drink alcohol...but you do drink... or of course you would be dead....LOL

I thought there would be a dedicated embarkation line... there is not. But perhaps the times they provided us for check in were earlier than others? We had the 11:00 am time.  I am not sure of the "upgraded" room location, we were deck 7 mid ship.  The afternoon snacks were ok, but again in a ship full of culinary delights... these were nothing special.  The CC cocktail party was fine, but with a drink package all our drinks were free anyway.  We didn't get the bottle of bubbly and by the time we remembered we were packing up.  We went to the Concierge Desk a couple times, but no one was working it so we had to go to the main guest services desk.

The extra points are nice and perhaps on other ships there is a difference.... but it's not for me.

I like the "enhanced" breakfast menu.  It depends on how much you like pancakes.  Room service for breakfast may have some drawbacks like the lack of a proper table but it is great to have breakfast in your robe and slippers in the peace and quiet of your own place to start the day.  The limited menu (mostly cold items) in the regular veranda does not cut it for us.  I think you may get some preference when moving around in the MDR.  We always check our table when boarding.  If we don't like the location we wait ( with lots of others) to talk to the Dining room manager and check to see what else is available.  Either the C state or the Elite status usually we come away happy.  This only works with traditional dining and we only care because DH has a little shell shock and any loud crashes around the server station will put him under the table in a duck and cover mode.

Since I have the nice balcony on the wake and travel solo thought I'd take advantage of having breakfast on the balcony every morning.  I'll use the bubbly to make mimosas.  I didn't buy the drinks package this time as I didn't like the selection of wines offered;  plan to bring 2 really great bottles of Cab from home.

Our early cruises were in the C1's on the M class across the stern of the ship. The only benefit we considered was the location......looking at the wake. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony....when it was a real table and late evening after dinner drinks.  The canapés were a liability and we would ask for cheese and crackers. We only attended the boarding day lunch once and found it to be a good activity while waiting for the cabin to be ready.

Is it worth it....that is up to you to decide

This question is asked a lot.  On the S-Class, the concierge rooms are the same size as a regular veranda cabin.

And, yes, you get a bottle of sparkling wine when you arrive in your room and you get canape's every afternoon delivered to your room.  And a nice live flower in a bud vase delivered on day two or three.  The sparkling wine is very low end, and is terrible.  And the canape's are often not very good.  So, for those two "perks", concierge is not worth it in our opinion.

Now, a few minor things that my wife and I like.  We always book a concierge cabin on the S-class ships.  We have probably been on more than 30 Celebrity S-Class, and always booked the concierge cabins on Deck 10 midship port side.  We have not cruised since August of 2019, but back then the towels were fluffier and bigger for concierge guests, which was nice.  We take a lot of showers, in the morning and after our day out, and the fluffier thicker towels are noticeably better. Also, the robes are thicker and fluffier.

Also, Celebrity gives every passenger a bag for belongings to go ashore or around the ship.  The concierge bags are much nicer, at least they were three years ago.  Also, the umbrella in the room is a nice golf size umbrella.  You also get to use a pair of binoculars in the room, but they are not very high quality.  So:

Sparkling wine - Not worth it

Canapes' - Not worth it

Binoculars- not worth it

Fluffier thicker towels - Yes, worth it

Fluffier Thicker Robes - Yes, my wife says definitely worth it

Supplied Bag - Yes, worth it

Golf Umbrella - worth it

We are also elite plus, so we do not know if it is concierge or elite plus that gives us more benefits, but you get priority tendering for the few ports that still use the tender procedure.

Concierge gets an embarkation day lunch in the main dining room, so you need not fight the crowds in the Oceanview buffet.  Many like this feature, we do not use it.  We seem to always be first to board after suites, so we go to the the Ocean View buffet, pick a great location to settle in, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of that first day.

Also, you get the services of a concierge host for reservations, etc.  In our 30 or 40 cruises, we have never talked to the guy/gal.  I guess some people like that service.  One of the reasons we do not upgrade to a suite is that the last thing we want is to be bothered by our butler.  We kind of know our way around the ships, make our own reservations, mostly pre-cruise, and if we really need something, Guest Services on Deck 3 is all we need.

Lastly, and the main reason we get a concierge cabin is we like the location on the ship.  Deck 10 is as high as you can go to have cabins both above and below you.  I do not understand when the S-Class were built in the early 2000's, they had aqua class cabins on deck 11under the pool deck.  You noticed they fixed that on the E-Class.  Aqua rooms have cabins above and cabins below now, at least on the Edge.  Deck 10 is an easy walk up two or three flights to the pool/Oceanview Café/ gym.

So, we book concierge for location and the fluffier towels and robes.  The bags are nice, but we already have like 30 or so in our closet at home.  Paying more, but we're retired, so a few more bucks isn't really a big deal.

In summary, we pay more for the location.  After re-reading my points above, the "perks" of concierge are not really that great.  Except, of course, the fluffier thicker towels and robes.

Sparkling wine - Worth it for me as I make mimosas for breakfast. On one cruise the cabin  steward gave  me a second bottle.

Canapés- worth it as I switch for hummus or cheese and crackers.

Binoculars do not get used

Fluffier towels are worth it

Thicker robes I find too warm especially in Caribbean

Celebrity bag- Yes but I give it away

Golf umbrella-  no as I prefer a small collapsible one.

In summary concierge worth it if the price is minimally higher or same as regular verandah.
