Amp this!

Recommended Posts

I’m with the elimination of:

bionic bar- I’ve never seen more than 1O in the bar

jamies - that’s Italian

nav - hair drying zone

      -bamboo Room

somehow upgrade Chumps grill

we had to start booking suites to avoid the bad Diamond lounges

amp the beer selection on all ships

(I’ll pay more for good beer)

Please amp adventure ocean (to be on par with Oasis space/amenities wise) and change the program ages to include 13 year olds - or at least give this age group some supervised activities. The teen program starting at 12 or 13 (depending on ship) is completely unenticing to pre/new teens - all they do is roam around the ship aimlessly.

Please have an ENCLOSED solarium. Hot or rainy days are just a waste.

Please add more international night themes to windjammer. I get people like Indian/Asian/Caribbean/Italian - but there ARE other cuisines. A salad in the morning would also be a nice option with the SMALL cucumbers as opposed to the watery giants they serve. Please also keep the windjammer open until 10pm (at the minimum for late ports).

Guacamole - please improve this. RCCL's version of guacamole is just not right.

Please change entertainment schedule more often for those who sail more often - at least rotate the offerings once in a while.

Please offer better shade at the outdoor pools.

Please PLEASE upgrade your casinos! Even the amped ships have no new machines but at least the seats are comfortable. Casinos should be refreshed at least annually.

Please - bigger tables on the balconies so I could have a plate of pastries AND a cup of coffee on there without worrying one or the other is about to fall off (Anthem - this is aimed at least at you).

SEAPLEX & 270 - please install these on every ship  😁

Was on the Explorer earlier this month and one employee said that no sauna facilities were being touched in the Amping this upcoming January while another said yes they are.  Who know but the steam room was finally working on day 5 😳😤

Unfortunately, the steam room was barely working on the Explorer again last week.  It was a warm room, but never saw any steam come out in 15 minutes, like it did on the other ships.

You saw 10 in there once.  Never seen that many in there ever, and it is a HUGE waste of space, makes poor drinks, and worst of all...has no character at all - love the personalities of the bar staff, and the robot has no personality.

While at it, put glass doors on the Casino to keep the smoke in the casino as long as RCCL intends to permit smoking in casinos.  The smoke smell on the Voyager class ships in the Schooner bar is disgusting.

This 100 times over. RC send one of their biggest and brightest ships to the Med each year and waste it by visiting the same 6 ports every year.

Yeah, thats why its a one time trip for us and we have gone with P&O next summer for different port stops. Not intrested in the same locations.

The bionic bar seems to be a bone of contention  for a few of us in here.  I really don't care if it is there or not.  The problem I have with it is the people that congregate in the pathway to goes by the bar.  They just don't have any situational awareness or common decency to move to the left or right and let people pass by.  I've actually has one or two people look annoyed because people are trying to get through and politely say, "excuse me", who aren't participating in the bar experience.

This is something I don’t understand about RC. A lot of stuff getting mentioned here costs money and that’s something RC doesn’t have. However, itineraries takes effort and imagination - both of which are free.

Give us 4 itineraries for an Oasis Class ship in the Med please.

The Bionic bar is nothing more than a novelty. It's a total gimmick. I mean, how many people have actually gotten more than 1 drink from there? And I don't mean just per cruise, I mean like ever. That percentage has got to be very, very low. My family did it once, many cruises ago. 2 drinks for 3 people. Is it cool? Sure. Fun to watch, Sure. But really, once you've done it or watched it, it's "Been there, done that". I don't see people hanging out there for hours buying drink after drink.

Even if you consider the fact that you are not paying one or two bartenders, whenever I have watched one, I want to say there has always been someone maintaining it. Wiping up, replacing bottles, etc. It's not "labor free". In the end, I'd have to believe that this is not a revenue generating venue for Royal. And I really don't see it categorized like other free activities that are just part of the overall cruise experience, where people more or less expect them and do them over & over.

It looks good in a TV commercial 😉

The BB was VERY entertaining on the initial rollout (Quantum Nov 2014 transatlantic).  This was the very first revenue sailing with a BB.  Spilled drinks, missing shots, overfilling, underfilling, and many other mishaps.  😄

But yeah, after it was tweaked, it's just a novelty.

Introduce some new itineraries ... definitely in the Med, but elsewhere as well. Other cruiselines offer something other than Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway in Alaska. Why should I cruise RC again in Alaska if I don't get to see a new port? And then there's South America ... I don't have the funds to undertake the World Odyssey, but I'd be interested in something other than the ABC islands and Cartegena.

Jamie’s isn’t amazing but it’s definitely better than the new Giovannis Olive Garden Kitchen.

That's interesting to hear, I heard the dry dock in February was just for maintenance and that there was no 'Amping' going on. I hope there is as we are on Explorer around the  Greek Isles next summer.

Its out of service for 5 weeks. I don’t know if that’s long enough for ‘amping’ or just regular maintenance. Others may know how long Navigator took.

Absolutely new ports. We are going to another cruise line to do South America and other travel bucket lists.

I totally agree, same thing with Oasis out of Bayonne, it's the same itinerary every week, and it's not a good one, how many times do you want to go to Nassau? Ugh!

I get it, you can't get very far in a week, so alternate we did a 12 night on Anthem to the Southern Caribbean, it was fabulous.

How about bionic sandwich bar?  I’d order a Reuben.

As for the Med, and other European destinations as well, the options esp. for the Oasis class might be more and more limited due to environmental groups having targeted the cruise industry lately. In many popular places, the locals also object against very large numbers of visitors arriving all at once (I'm not taking a personal stance here, just repeating what is being discussed re cruise ship arrivals):
