We had a very good lunch at Jamie’s. I’ve decided that even when I don’t order the dining package I’ll be ordering at least embarkation lunch at a specialty restaurant.  It is such a better embarkation experience.

service good but the pace was a little slow.

So just a quick recap…

Last nights dinner, while ok, was really slow. An hour three quarters to from start to finish. We had reservations thankfully and only waited about 5 minutes to be seated. Those without reservations were in a massive line.

I wouldn’t say it was a disappointing night it just wasn’t a night to remember. Because of the slow service we missed the early welcome aboard show so we decided to just walk around a little then head to the room to wait for the 10:00 show.

I fell asleep about 930 and didn’t wake up till 9. I don’t think I’ve slept that long since I was very very young.

Most experts recommend getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night.  I think you should drink Boston Ice Teas more often.  Good for your health. 😉

Back at the pub for my new favorite drink the Boston Iced Tea.

For those wondering it basically a Long Island ice tea.

I'm more interested in what they consider to be a "lengthy measure of Buffalo Trace Bourbon" in the Classic Old Fashioned.  Sounds like marketing gobbledygook.  I think I'll need to confirm for myself in a few weeks.

I know I'd be spending a few evenings in the music hall listening to DSB

They are on deck for tonight at 11. I should be able to stay awake. My best party days are beyond me but with a good sleep behind me and only moderate drink today I’m expecting to hammer down tonight.

I meant to post this a couple hours go but didn’t hit send.

Since I slept long last  night I’m expecting a strong night tonight. It’s formal night so that’ll be another night in the MDR. I always enjoy the beef tenderloin.

Heading to the casino to help Royal recover from the pandemic shutdown.

We had a Def Leppard tribute band when we went in July.  I made it to the 3 late night shows.  By the last day they were bored of playing Def Leppard so they switched it up and played mostly Van Halen.  Switched On, the house band is also pretty good and played a nice mix.

Update: from casino. After two hours I’m actually up $25.50

I had an odd thing happen to me in the casino. I’m still very much a novice and only play blackjack. While sitting at the cheap $10 table and down about $  I had one of the host come to me and suggest I play one of the higher dollar tables. I thought odd as it was only me he was addressing at a full table. I was bidding $20-25 at the $10  table. I’m not a big time gambler. He suggested the $50 table but I told him it was to rich for my blood. I was already down $300. Nobody was playing it so he said he’d lower it. I went over it was at a $25 minimum and sitting by myself quickly recovered my losses and ended up just over $25 up.

That’d be excellent. I’m going to try and hit up DSB all three nights. We’ll see what they do.

That's an interesting recipie for the Boston Iced Tea Party -- all the menu''s I have seen include bourbon/whiskey and vermouth.  This looks more like the ingredients for a normal LIT

Yeah I thought different too. I first tried it on Odyssey and was sure it was more different.

DW complained when she went for a frappe after dinner and had to pay for it because I’d used up her Diamond drinks. 😂

I’ll wait till she goes to bed to start hitting her drinks.

I plan to use as many of my DW's Diamond Plus drinks as possible.  She's usually good for a single glass of wine with Diner (which I am hoping to have her get from the Suite Lounge) and a nightcap -tanqueray and tonic or tanqueray and cranberry.  I am sure between the two of us, the 10 free drinks a day will not be an issue.

I’d say it was a very generous pour.

If you enjoy Old Fashioneds, see if you can find a bar that will serve a Zacapa Old Fashioned.  It's something I became very acquainted with on our last couple of Celebrity cruises, until they ran out of Ron Zacapa due to supply chain issues.  I think you will like it.
