What’s a tradition you do after you board?

I've been on over 30 cruises and my tradition is to literally eat everything I see for as many days as I'm on the cruise and then cry for weeks after about the weight gain. Haha, cruising!!!

Actual tradition upon boarding (even pre-Covid): Wipe down every surface with Lysol wipes. 🙂

Good to know. I didn’t know it was open before dinner. Thanks!

The Pig & Anchor offers a free buffet on embarkation day and I think on sea days as well. It’s not busy at all. I had it on the Horizon last year, plan on going there in a few weeks on the Panorama.

Usually drinks at whatever bar has happy hour. First drinks include taking pics and sending to our friends that are not with us (to tease them of course).

Every cruise since our first on the Holiday in 2009.... get that first cocktail and call my brother (to tease him that we're on a cruise... of course!)

Lately, my routine is to grab a rum & coke (single shot), find a forward elevator, drag carry-on bag to the Serenity area and wait until 1:25 pm to trek to the room.

Then it's off to the casino to look for the impossible...an Ultimate Poker machine in the non-smoking area.  My lifeboat station is usually close so I can get 2 for 1 using the stairs.

First night is always lamb chops at 555 since my wife is a vegetarian and PETA person and I haven't had lamb since my last cruise.

#1 Muster

#2 Drink from the closest bar (which I was lucky enough to be #1 @ Red Frog a few weeks back for a free drink)

#3 Head to the lobby or lido to people watch

The excitement of everyone getting on the ship is so much fun to watch.  Especially all those that immediately get all sorts of turned around and/or the ones that immediately run to the lobby bar and are shocked that their 3 drinks are $40.

Ours is pretty much the same as others have said.  Quickly drop off our luggage (Platinum), eat, buy a drink to toast yet another wonderful cruise AND being blessed enough to do it!!  Then just sit somewhere and people watch until rooms are ready.  That's entertaining in itself! Once we've let our family know we've safely made it on board, TURN OFF OUR PHONES!!! That's my personal favorite! 😁

Depends on the ship and where we board.  It's either:

A. Grab a Funship Special (it's made and ready to go typically), drop luggage, head to muster, register for Camp Ocean, grab lunch and explore

B. Grab a Funship Special , head to muster, drop luggage, register for Camp Ocean, grab lunch and explore

Sometimes we are very close to the muster station and swing by before we drop our luggage off.

Upon boarding, pick up cocktail and take it straight to my cabin for bedbug check, followed by some cleaning and sanitizing of my cabin.  Do I know how to have FUN or what?😎
